Tesla slashes Cybertruck prices as it tries to move (unpainted) metal

if I were to buy a truck it would be because I need a truck (family has a farm, there's been a bunch of research). And there is sufficient analysis of how the cybertruck fails at truck tasks due to its awkward design.

Apple introduces new AirTag with better range and a louder speaker

Cool cool… how about building it into my apple remote my kids seem to misplace 10 times a day? (The “find my” they added to ios is shockingly bad around cushions or a bed)

Trump admin denies DOGE put Social Security data into insecure cloud system

This came up in the CDC hearing today between Sen Cassidy & Sanders. Summary: Separate from swearing in, it is already illegal to lie during testimony to congress. Swearing is therefore technically not necessary (counter point from Sen Cassidy is it leads to higher trust by the public), and...

Grok’s “MechaHitler” meltdown didn’t stop xAI from winning $200M military deal

sorry to pop peoples bubbles, but reading the article this sounds like standard future technology DoD contracting to me. There are N companies with interesting future technology Y which still needs development. No idea which of those N companies will "win". A funding line is then established...

Tesla sales and production slumped heavily in Q1 2025

Question: how much of the decline represents orders made during a previous quarter? e.g. does it include the sales drops reported for jan/feb/march or will that come out in the Q2 report?

Elon Musk wants OpenAI to auction off a large ownership stake

On Trump’s chopping block: EVs, charger funding, California’s emissions

Consumer Finance Protection Bureau wants to regulate Venmo, Apple Cash like banks

I prefer to think this was finally pushed over the edge of "maybe we should think about this" by a meeting where someone explained Elon's plans for Twitter and everyone did a spit-take "that guy? My cousin's Tesla Autopilot almost killed him last week. And now he wants to run a bank? That's a...

SpaceX projected 20 million Starlink users by 2022—it ended up with 1 million

I got a Starlink for my family farm where we tried every other option with poor connectivity and bandwidth. It works great. Unboxed it, turned it on. No latency issues, even in a strong thunderstorm there are no dropouts or connectivity loss. Would recommend. Only way Elon will get my money.

What skills are missing in the talent pool? Unless there are specifics it allows the reader to fill in the gap with their own experience/bias. Is it that they need 26 people certified in installing a specific type of device, but there are only 12 available?
