AI is no longer a vision for the future of logistics. It is already shaping today’s warehouses. 🤖 From image processing and quality control to material flow optimization and robotic systems, artificial intelligence is becoming a key driver for more adaptive and resilient intralogistics. The latest INDUSTRIEMAGAZIN article highlights how TGW Logistics and other industry leaders are applying AI today and where the technology is heading next: towards intelligent systems that combine data, automation and human expertise. At TGW Logistics, AI supports critical processes across the lifecycle of automated solutions, while generative AI creates new opportunities in engineering, software development, documentation and knowledge management. ⚙️ The future of logistics will not be defined by automation alone, but by how intelligently systems can learn, adapt and support people. For those looking deeper into the topic, the full INDUSTRIEMAGAZIN article (in German) is available via the link in the comments. ⬇️ You can also explore how AI, robotics and IoT are transforming warehouse logistics in our article: “Smart Supply Chains: How AI, Robotics, and IoT Are Transforming Warehouse Logistics.” ⬇️

A new chapter for manufacturing at TGW Logistics. 🏗️ The opening of our new 16,000 m² production hall at our headquarters in Marchtrenk (Austria) marks an important milestone. The facility – in which TGW Logistics has invested 100 million euros – strengthens the manufacturing capabilities that are implemented in logistics centers around the world. ⚙️ Together with the Wels production site, around 700 specialists manufacture roughly 90 percent of TGW Logistics' mechatronic modules – from conveyor equipment and storage and retrieval machines to shuttle robots. The new hall brings production and logistics departments closer together, reducing transport distances and increasing efficiency. 🌱 Combined with a highly automated storage system with 60,000 storage locations and a 7,200 m² photovoltaic system, the new facility creates the foundation for future growth. The logistics center not only supplies production with the necessary components but also ensures the global supply of spare parts for customer systems. A milestone built around technology, efficiency and the people who make automation possible. More details in the comments. ⬇️ © ARGE Baumeister - Waizenauer / Leyrer & Graf / Felbermayr

🤝 Great automation isn't built on technology alone. It's built on trust. In temperature-controlled logistics, reliability is not optional. Every process needs to protect product quality, ensure availability, and keep supply chains moving. That is why strong partnerships matter. Together with Lineage, a global leader in temperature-controlled logistics and cold chain solutions, TGW Logistics works on creating automation solutions that support one of the most critical parts of the food supply chain. From initial planning and pre-assembly to shipping, installation, and commissioning, every stage requires close coordination, transparency, and shared responsibility. 💡 Successful automation is created through more than innovative technology. It is built through collaboration, shared expertise, and the trust between partners. 🎥 Discover the full story via the link in the comments.

When complexity rises, throughput is put to the test. ⚡ As SKU assortments expand and order profiles become more unpredictable, maintaining consistent throughput is becoming a key challenge in modern fulfillment. Complexity does not only impact capacity. It affects predictability, process stability, and the ability to scale operations efficiently. A shuttle-based goods-to-person approach helps separate picking performance from order structure. Small, large, or mixed orders can be processed with stable output and predictable lead times. In this video, Alberto Sanchis Sebastia explains how TGW Logistics FlashPick supports this approach through dense storage, controlled material flow, and scalable performance. 🌍 One example is INTERSPORT FRANCE, where TGW Logistics implemented an automated fulfillment solution for the new national distribution center, supporting efficient handling of a broad product assortment and future growth. 🚀 The focus is not simply on moving products faster. It is about creating operations that remain reliable as complexity continues to increase. Discover more about our goods-to-person systems via the link in the comments. ⬇️

📦 Growth changes the way fulfillment needs to operate. As retailers expand, fulfillment operations must do more than handle higher volumes. They need to manage seasonal peaks, support employees, and remain flexible for future growth. That was the challenge behind INTERSPORT FRANCE’s new national distribution center in Saint-Vulbas. Built around TGW Logistics’ FlashPick solution, the 77,000 m² facility is designed to process around 45 million items annually, with more than 65% of the volume supported by automation. Key objectives: 📈 Enable continued business growth ⚡ Handle seasonal peaks with reliable store replenishment 👥 Improve ergonomics through automated processes Future-ready fulfillment starts with designing operations that can evolve alongside the business. 🎥 See the full project story in the video via the link in the comments.

Margins are tight. Expectations are rising. And volatility has become the norm. In grocery, operational excellence is no longer a differentiator, it’s a prerequisite. Labor shortages, shifting demand patterns, and the growth of online and private labels are forcing networks to rethink how they plan, pick, and replenish. In a recent conversation on our podcast "The Automation Journey", experts Marissa Dierlam, Nathan Wolf and Dr. Michael Schedlbauer from TGW Logistics share how leading grocers respond: reducing waste through smarter automation, strengthening resilience with integrated systems, and leveraging data to make faster, better decisions. The takeaway is clear – those who treat automation as a strategic capability, not a cost factor, are better positioned to adapt and scale. 🚨 Learning Beyond the Classroom: Apprentices in Action Benjamin Franklin once said: “Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.” The strongest learning happens when responsibility meets real systems – where understanding only becomes real when it is applied, not just explained. What started as a manageable SAP integration quickly turned into a real end-to-end project for our apprentices at TGW Logistics, from development and system customizing to testing in a realistic mini warehouse in Marchtrenk. 💬 “I never thought we’d be allowed to work on a real SAP integration so early in our apprenticeship.” – Mateo, Apprentice IT The best part? This solution will soon go live for multiple customers. 💬 “We were challenged – but never left alone.” – David, Apprentice IT Real projects. Real responsibility. Real impact from day one. Belimo rethinks fulfillment within a limited footprint Belimo, global market leader for energy-efficient control of heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems, had reached the limits of its manual warehouse in Shanghai in both storage capacity and performance, putting pressure on future growth and service reliability. Together with TGW Logistics, the company implemented a highly automated fulfillment center built around a mini-load warehouse with more than 11,000 double-deep storage locations. The solution maximizes the use of limited space while significantly increasing throughput and reducing operating costs. What this enables for Belimo: 📦 Increased capacity without expanding footprint ⚙️ Higher operational efficiency across flows 💰 Reduced operating costs through automation 🚀 Faster and more reliable customer service 📈 Scalable growth "We are delighted that Belimo has put its trust in the expertise and experience of TGW Logistics," says Jun Mei, Chief Executive Officer at TGW China. "The limited space available required some resourceful planning and implementation. Despite these challenges, our teams accomplished this project on schedule and to the customer's complete satisfaction." A Lifetime Services agreement further secures long-term availability through onsite operational support. More details available via link in the comments.
