“Zenith, alongside Sunrise and SAIL, transforms what the University of Cambridge can achieve… equipping Cambridge to tackle some of the most complex challenges of our time, from cancer, to climate, to clean energy, and turn discovery into real world impact.” – Vice-Chancellor, Professor Deborah Prentice Today’s launch of the Zenith AI supercomputer at the University of Cambridge, alongside the announcement of the Sovereign AI Innovation Lab (SAIL), is a powerful example of collaboration, partnership and strategic investment. The event brought together leaders from across academia, industry and government, including DSIT Minister James Frith MP. AMD CEO Dr Lisa Su reflected on the strength of the Cambridge's research and innovation environment, noting: “We are here because there is tremendous talent in the ecosystem.” Funded by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) and UK Research and Innovation, and built with AMD and Dell Technologies, Zenith is now the UK’s largest AI-for-science platform – uniquely bringing together simulation and AI to accelerate research across health, energy and the environment. The launch of SAIL marks an important next step: a Cambridge-led public-private initiative that will integrate new AI technologies, create real-world test environments, and support an open, sovereign AI ecosystem where researchers and innovators can build, validate and scale trusted tools. Together with Sunrise, developed with the UK Atomic Energy Authority to advance fusion energy, this begins to define a broader national capability: from compute, to application, to deployment. The potential is already clear: • In healthcare, Zenith will enable AI-driven tools to improve cancer diagnosis and treatment • Researchers are beginning to build NHS-scale cancer AI models, with the potential to improve outcomes and drive new therapeutics • In environmental science, systems like IceNet are improving Arctic sea ice forecasting, strengthening our understanding of climate systems • And with Sunrise, AI-powered simulation is accelerating progress toward commercially viable fusion energy 📸 Nick Saffell

AI is evolving from answering questions to getting work done. Generative AI generates responses. Agentic AI plans, orchestrates, and executes across tools, data, and workflows. As AI agents scale, so do the infrastructure demands behind them, from orchestration and retrieval to APIs, databases, containers, and VMs. That’s where AMD EPYC processors come in, delivering the highest performing CPUs for the next era of AI: https://lnkd.in/eUjenipb

Congratulations to Kimi Antonelli and the entire Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team on six wins in six races. Proud to be a partner of the team and excited to celebrate this incredible achievement.

An historic venue at which to make history 🏆 On the streets of Monte Carlo yesterday, Kimi Antonelli at just 19 years, 9 months, and 13 days old became the youngest Monaco Grand Prix winner ever. It was an accomplished drive as part of a controlled performance all weekend. On George's side, he fought back from a disappointing qualifying session and was in the fight for the podium before an unfortunate pitlane speeding, and subsequent drive-through, penalty derailed his afternoon. We know he will be bounce back this weekend in Barcelona. That's now six wins from six; a strong start to the year but it is just that - a start. We will keep pushing hard as we continue the European leg of the season. #MonacoGP #F1 #Formula1
