  • We love our busking community and the colour and creativity they bring to our streets. From Tuesday 4 August, we're introducing changes to our busking code and policy. To make things simpler and smoother for buskers, we've built a new digital guide: https://lnkd.in/eD2qJk6F The mobile-first guide helps buskers easily identify the rules that apply to their act, including where they can busk, for how long, plus alerts for any busking site closure or changes and more. You need to include everyone who’ll spend the night at your home. This includes yourself, spouse/partner and family members of all ages, housemates and any visitors. Don't forget to include people who live with you but are away on Census night, such as shift workers. For more information, visit census.abs.gov.au

  • Two of our projects were recognised at the recent Australian Institute of Architects’ 2026 NSW Architecture Awards. 🏫 Education Architecture - The William E Kemp Award and The Lord Mayor's Prize: Green Square Public School and Community Spaces (BVN Architecture) Green Square Public School and Community Spaces provides extensive community facilities, creating a vibrant educational, social and cultural hub in the heart of Green Square. The jury noted "This project demonstrates the power of strategic planning, of strong collaboration between local and state government, and of excellence in architecture and execution. It sets a new benchmark for how dense urban communities can be supported through thoughtful, integrated design."   🏛️ Small Project Architecture: Perry Park Pavilion (Scale Architecture) 🏛️ Sited at the entry to the new FIFA-sized all weather sports field at Perry Park in Alexandria, the pavilion incorporates sustainability with features like natural daylight, cross-ventilation and recycled timber materials. The fully accessible pavilion provides amenity for organised sports users as well as shelter for spectators and other park users. It's a welcoming space well-used by visitors. Congratulations to all fifty five project winners for design excellence and creativity.   📸Green Square Public School and Community Spaces photo by Abril Felman 📸Perry Park Pavilion photo by Tim Clark   [Image description: 1) A timber pavilion set inside a leafy park with overlaid text reading "Small Architecture: Perry Park Pavilion" with a gold trophy graphic 2) A school building seen from the street with text overlaid "The William E Kemp Award and The Lord Mayor's Prize: Green Square Public School and Community Spaces" with a gold trophy graphic.]

With an average of 3490 trips every day, it's officially the busiest bike route in the city, and a vital connection in the network. Our city access team and some of the key project contributors were on site to see the millionth trip tick over on the live counter. What a moment!
