Brazil has rapidly emerged as a cotton powerhouse, and a recent visit by Brazilian cotton growers to leading Australian operations, including Australian Food & Fibre and Sundown Pastoral in the Moree region was an opportunity for the two industries to gather, connect and gain valuable insights. And overwhelmingly, the consensus is that Australia and Brazil are stronger together in the natural fibre battle against synthetics. At next week's Australian Cotton Conference we will further explore the challenges and shared opportunities of the two countries during a panel session ‘Lessons from the Competition: Reflections on Brazil' at 4.15pm in the ANZ Plenary on Wednesday August 5. The panel will share the firsthand experiences of growers who recently visited Brazil as part of Rabobank’s 2025 Brazil Knowledge Tour, and feature Andrew Watson, Boggabri, Jen Seigmeier, Mungindi, and Jonathan Burrell, Dirranbandi. The Rabo team is looking forward to catching up with growers, industry and exploring all things cotton next week on the Gold Coast. Cotton Australia

In the small North West NSW community of Rowena, the local hall is the lifeblood of the region. And the previously decommissioned hall has been given a lifeline thanks to Rabobank’s Rural Community Hub Program, with local farmer Vanessa Radford and fellow members of the Rowena Community Association successful in gaining funding for reverse-cycle air-conditioning, kick-starting a wave of additional grants to refurbish the hall, so it can now be enjoyed well into the future.
