𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲-𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗿𝗶𝗱 𝘀, 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲-𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀: 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻⚡ The European Commission’s Electrification Action Plan confirms a simple truth: the electrification of our economy will be the key catalyst for turning Europe’s competitiveness, energy security and decarbonisation ambitions into reality.  𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦𝗢-𝗘 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗴𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱. Every electric vehicle, heat pump and newly electrified industrial process depends on a resilient and affordable power system. So does meeting increasing electricity demand, such as from data centres or electrolysers. ENTSO-E supports the European Commission's Electrification Action Plan and proposal regarding future-proofing electricity bills in the Union, and its ambition to reduce energy costs for consumers while strengthening the competitiveness of European industry.  To deliver lasting benefits for households and businesses, the updated framework should also 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 needed for electrification, competitiveness and energy security. Europe needs:  ✅ Fair and cost-reflective electricity pricing  ✅ Faster smart meter deployment  ✅ Fair taxation that supports electrification  ✅ Regulatory frameworks that attract investment in the grids of the future 𝗧𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗮𝗹'𝘀 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹, 𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦𝗢-𝗘 𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀: ➡️ 𝗘𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿-𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 that provide market-based and risk-reflective returns, enabling the investments needed for Europe's future electricity system.  ➡️ 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁-𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 to reward contributions to security of supply, market integration, resilience, grid stability and cybersecurity, all of which create value for consumers and the wider economy.  ➡️ 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 by allowing national regulators to design tariff structures that reflect local system realities while applying common European principles.  ➡️ 𝗘𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 rather than mandatory one-size-fits-all benchmarking approaches to adequately reflect differences between European transmission systems.  Read our 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 and initial 𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦𝗢-𝗘 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 here: https://lnkd.in/efJKD2Qz #EnergyTransition #Electrification #GridInvestment #Competitiveness #Electricity #EU

👥 ENTSO-E hosts the latest Transparency Platform User Group Last Friday, 17 July, ENTSO-E hosted the latest Transparency Platform User Group (ETUG), bringing together Transparency Platform users to discuss ongoing developments, exchange feedback, and share ideas for future improvements. 📍 The ENTSO-E Transparency Platform plays a key role in supporting transparency across the European electricity market by providing free public access to a wide range of electricity system and market data. By making this information openly available, the Platform helps strengthen market confidence, facilitate informed decision-making, and support a more integrated European electricity system. 🗣️ During the meeting, participants discussed recent Transparency Platform developments, shared their experiences as users, and provided valuable feedback that will help guide future enhancements. ENTSO-E also welcomes the accompanying Commission proposal to future-proof electricity bills. It supports key principles for network charges that are 𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐭-𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞, 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐨𝐧-𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲, alongside fair electricity taxation and accelerated deployment of smart meters to unlock flexibility and improve grid observability. At the same time, delivering Europe's electrification ambitions requires 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬. Simple cost efficiency should not be the only efficiency measure, as it could be counterproductive. Incentives should support the whole range of policy objectives. ENTSO-E stands ready to work with the EU institutions, regulators and stakeholders to ensure that Europe’s power system remains the backbone of a competitive, secure and decarbonised economy. 🚀  How can innovation help build a smarter, more resilient electricity system for Europe?    ENTSO-E has today published the latest Research, Development & Innovation Implementation Plan 2026-2030.  Building on the Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Roadmap 2024-2034, the plan turns long-term strategic priorities into implementable project concepts that can help accelerate innovation in Europe's power system.   The Plan presents 13 Project Concepts addressing key areas for the future operation and development of the power system, including: ⚡ Integrating emerging technologies, 💻 Enhancing digitalisation,  🔗 Improving interoperability, and  🛡️ Strengthening the resilience of the electricity grid.  The Implementation Plan serves as a catalyst for transformative change across Europe’s power sector, fostering collaboration led by European Transmission System Operators (TSOs), and supporting the modernisation of the European electricity system. Last week, ENTSO-E brought together its leadership and Secretariat staff for our annual Townhall – a moment to reflect on the past year and look ahead, as we reach the midpoint of our current office holders' mandate. Discussion covered lessons from the 2025 blackouts, grid security, ensuring our Strategy matches the changing energy landscape, the EU Grids Package, and strengthening the Association's governance. Running through all of it: a common objective of delivering value to our members, the importance of strong collaboration across teams, and a strong shared sense of purpose from staff and leadership alike.

Today, 6 July, ENTSO-E and EU DSO Entity are publishing two new documents supporting the harmonised implementation in the electricity sector developed by Task Force 3 (TF Data Interoperability Modelling) of the Joint Working Group Implementing Regulations on Data Interoperability and Data Access: 📃 Guiding Principles for the Measurement Data Market Document  Implementing Guide on Customer Switching (IG CS)  These publications provide a common technical basis for data exchange and process implementation, helping market actors move towards more interoperable, transparent, and consumer-centric electricity markets across Europe. 📃 The Guiding Principles set the foundation for the structured exchange of measurement data with an alignment of different standards (My Energy Data and FSKAR metering profiles), while the IG CS supports the technical implementation of IR customer switching procedures in a harmonised way.    🔗 More information and links to the publications: https://lnkd.in/emAPFKsy #DataInteroperability #CustomerSwitching #ElectricityMarket #EnergyData #Digitalisation #Interoperability #ENTSOEEUDSOEntity #TF 

⚡ As Europe’s power system evolves, maintaining grid stability in an increasingly inverter-based system is becoming a key priority. To support this transition, ENTSO-E has published the Technical Report on Forced Oscillations: Clarification of draft NC RfG 2.0 Requirements, developed in collaboration with WindEurope through a joint expert group established in 2024. The report provides: 🔹 Non-binding guidance for detecting forced oscillations 🔹 An assessment and technical clarification of the draft Network Code on Requirements for Grid Connection of Generators (NC RfG) 2.0 requirements on forced oscillations based on real wind farm case studies    While the future NC RfG 2.0 requirements will apply to all non-synchronous power generation and electricity storage modules, this report focuses specifically on wind turbines.
