The PEFCR4Space Technical Secretariat is back at the table 🚀 🛰️ With the framework for the product environmental footprint category rules for the space sector growing more concrete, we wanted to hear directly from the Technical Secretariat members why the #PEFCR4Space matters to their organisations and what impact they expect it to have on the industry. 🎥 Watch the video that captures the perspectives of some of the Technical Secretariat members. 🚁 Search and Rescue in action. At Koksijde Air Base in Belgium, visitors were discovering what it takes to carry out Search and Rescue missions. From the Belgian Air Force's NH90 NFH helicopters, which carry out Search and Rescue missions over the North Sea as part of the 40th Helicopter Squadron, to rescue equipment, cutting-edge technology and, above all, the dedicated people behind these operations, the event showcases the many capabilities that come together to help save lives. 🛰️ When a distress beacon is activated, Galileo's Search and Rescue (SAR) service helps relay the alert, enabling rescue teams to locate people in distress faster and more accurately. Its unique Return Link Service also lets people in distress know that their emergency alert has been received, providing reassurance that help is on the way. 🚁 Where #EUSpace and Galileo help rescue teams save lives. At Wednesday's Open Door Day at Koksijde Air Base 🇧🇪, around 10,000 visitors explored more than 30 helicopters and several aircrafts, took part in interactive activities and discovered a wide range of capabilities, including Search and Rescue operations. At the European Commission's DG DEFIS stand, we showcased #GalileoEU's Search and Rescue (SAR) service (provided by EUSPA - EU Agency for the Space Programme), demonstrating how it supports rescue teams in locating people in distress more quickly and accurately. This capability is particularly valuable for Search and Rescue (SAR) missions around the world such as those carried out by the Belgian Air Force's NH90 NFH helicopters over the North Sea.
