When cities heat up, LIFE brings solutions 🌡️🌱    Heatwaves and extreme weather are becoming a growing reality across Europe. Tool4Life project is helping drive the transition towards a more circular manufacturing industry.      Some of their milestones are:      ✅ 85% reduction in tool mass  ✅ Production time reduced from 60 to 20 hours  ✅ Waste reduced from 721 kg to just 30 kg per tool  ✅ Up to 89% reduction in CO₂-equivalent emissions across multiple recycled life cycles     These results show how #LIFEProgramme supports innovative manufacturing solutions that reduce environmental impact while improving efficiency and resource use.     Watch the video to learn more about #LIFEProject Tool4Life ⬇️      #CircularEconomy

Restoring rivers, restoring #EUBiodiversity🌊 Healthy rivers are essential for thriving ecosystems, but they face growing pressures from human activity and climate change. #LIFEProject DRAVA LIFE is helping restore the natural functions of the Drava River in Croatia, creating benefits for biodiversity, habitats and local communities. Its achievements have now been recognised internationally, with the project selected as a finalist for the IPMA Global Sustainability Project Manager Award 2026. 🏆 A great example of how collaboration can deliver lasting results for nature. Celebrating LIFE projects protecting #EUBiodiversity across Europe!    2 #LIFEProjects recognised at the #LIFEAwards26 are showing what is possible when people, science and nature come together.    🏆 Egyptian Vulture New LIFE received the LIFE Citizens’ Prize for its work protecting one of Europe’s most threatened birds. Through international cooperation, satellite tracking, anti-poisoning actions and awareness campaigns, the project helped reverse the decline of Egyptian Vulture populations across Europe, Africa and Asia.    🏆 LIFE Olivares Vivos received the Special Award for its innovative approach to restoring biodiversity in olive groves in southern Spain — proving that farming and nature can thrive together.    From saving rare species to creating more biodiversity-friendly landscapes, LIFE projects are turning conservation challenges into success stories. 🌱   https://lnkd.in/eqFnGiqK  #LIFEProgramme 

Building the next generation of #LIFEprojects in North Macedonia 🌱 More than 150 stakeholders joined a national campaign to learn about the opportunities offered by the #LIFEProgramme and the #EULIFE26 Calls for proposals. Across 5 locations, participants from public authorities, research organisations, businesses and civil society came together to exchange ideas, build partnerships and learn how to develop successful LIFE project proposals. How can war debris become a valuable resource for sustainable reconstruction?     This is one of the key questions addressed by the #LIFEProject D2R-GreenUA, which is developing a methodology to help Ukrainian municipalities and regions transform war debris into sustainable resources for Ukraine's green reconstruction. The methodology will be tested in two pilot cities in Ukraine.     As part of the project, a delegation of 25 Ukrainian stakeholders - including representatives from municipalities, universities and small businesses - travelled to the Umbria Region, Italy, on 8–9 July for a study visit.     The programme combined technical discussions with site visits, including: • Meetings with the Municipality of Norcia on waste management, recovery models and reconstruction frameworks.  • A visit to an inert waste recovery plant in Spoleto to explore the use of recycled aggregates in construction and environmental recovery.  • Visits to reconstruction projects in Norcia, including the Municipal Headquarters and the Basilica of San Benedetto, to learn from Italy's post-earthquake recovery experience.     The study visit provided practical knowledge and inspiration that will contribute to developing innovative, circular solutions for Ukraine's reconstruction while strengthening the capacity of participating municipalities.     Learn more about the project:    #LIFEProgramme   #CircularEconomy

Europe's insect populations are under increasing pressure from habitat loss, agricultural intensification, pollution, climate change, and invasive species. 🐝🌿 The good news?
