Holding a PhD in Civil Engineering from Villanova University, Dr. Pluimer has made significant contributions to the advancement of corrugated HDPE pipe performance, recycled-content materials, and service life prediction. His research has helped shape industry standards and best practices across North America. Alongside his work as a consultant and Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota Duluth, Dr. Pluimer serves in several leadership roles within ASTM Committee F17 on Plastic Piping Systems, contributing to the development of international standards for the industry. As a Session Chair at PPXXIII, Dr. Pluimer will help lead technical discussions and engage with presenters from across the global plastic pipe industry. We are pleased to introduce Mr. Zhanjie Wang, Part-time Vice President of the China National Light Industry Council and President of the China Plastics Processing Industry Association (CPPIA), with an extensive career dedicated to advancing China's plastics processing industry. A Senior Engineer, Mr. Wang also serves as Director of the CPPIA Science and Technology Advisory Committee, Director of the Group Standardization Technical Committee, and Executive Deputy Director of the Editorial Board of China Plastics. He is actively involved in vocational education as a member of the Light Industry Vocational Education Steering Committee and Deputy Director of its Plastics Committee. We are proud to introduce Mitsuaki Tokiyoshi, Research and Development Group Manager and an internationally recognized expert in plastic piping systems and standardization. With nearly three decades of experience in the plastics pipe industry, Mitsuaki began his career in 1997 at a Development Research Center for plastics near Tokyo, where he laid the foundation for his extensive expertise in polymer materials and piping technologies. Since 2017, he has served as Project Leader and Convener of ISO/TC138/SC3/WG8, leading the development of international standards for polyethylene pipes and fittings reinforced with short glass fibers for industrial applications. To further strengthen his technical and scientific knowledge, he pursued doctoral studies at Kobe University, earning his Ph.D. while actively contributing to international standardization activities and technical resolutions. Today, Mitsuaki leads research and development initiatives within his organization while continuing his work as Convener of ISO/TC138/SC3/WG8. His unique combination of industrial experience, research expertise, and dedication to global standards makes him a highly respected voice in the field.
