We are very proud to announce that we have promoted Yik Kei Leung to a new role within the team: Head of Strategic Partnerships 🎉 This promotion is to reflect Yik Kei's commitment to the company over many years, as well as the responsibility he is already progressively taking in the team for engaging and onboarding stakeholders - both for particular films and for broader business initiatives, and to create space for his continued growth into a more leadership-forward space. This is an organic transition so you'll start to see changes gradually over the next several months. Congratulations Yik Kei! 👏 (Photo : Yik Kei on stage at Cannes Docs in May, announcing this year's Impact Award)

At UNESCO Headquarters in Paris last Tuesday, a screening of the award-winning documentary "House of Hope" brought the story of a Palestinian West Bank school to policymakers, UN agencies, educators and civil society organisations. The event centred on the urgent need for trauma-informed education in crisis situations, and urged decision-makers to advance education for peace as a strategic priority. Co-hosted by the Permanent Delegations of Spain, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and the State of Palestine to UNESCO, the screening highlighted the work of House of Hope Vision School in the West Bank, where trauma-informed education, nonviolence, and social-emotional learning are helping children heal, learn, and thrive despite living under occupation in some of the most difficult conditions imaginable. The discussion underscored a clear and urgent message: protecting children and ensuring access to trauma-informed education must remain a priority, all the more so under the most extreme circumstances, while ensuring that teachers receive the support they need. Thank you to all who joined us for this powerful conversation. You can read more about it here: https://lnkd.in/dSiP8CEj

What if, in trying to solve isolation, we become comfortably disconnected from everyone except people exactly like ourselves? This Loneliness Awareness Week, Think-Film asks a more nuanced question: as we use technology to reduce loneliness, are we also narrowing our exposure to people, perspectives, and experiences that differ from our own? “While we’re busily engaged in using technology to optimise productivity and social enjoyment, we’re inadvertently making society less pluralistic, less curious, less capable of encountering difference without fear.” Tackling loneliness matters. But we also need to preserve the chance encounters, diverse relationships, and shared spaces that help build understanding across differences. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/euiBUqPg

The old movie pipeline is broken. And Cannes 2026 just proved it. For decades, the industry believed that if you make a good film, the audience will follow. But in today’s saturated, algorithm-driven landscape, even incredible films disappear into the noise. The most valuable asset in the film industry is no longer the content itself. It’s the audience. At the Marché du Film - Festival de Cannes this year, a new paradigm emerged. The conversations weren’t just about industry validation or traditional distribution. They were about communities. The projects winning the biggest deals are the ones that arrive with owned audiences and built-in ecosystems. This is why impact has moved from the margins to the centre. Impact is no longer just a "nice-to-have" moral addition after a film is made. It is the industry’s strategy for generating durable audience attachment and sustained discoverability. It’s how you move audiences toward films, and keep them there. Are we witnessing the end of the traditional distribution model? 🎬 Think-Film Impact Production have spent a decade running impact campaigns alongside major Hollywood releases, from Dark Waters to Navalny. Now founder Danielle Turkov is raising a fund to get investors to back the films shaping the issues they care about. "Budgets for films don't include impact," she tells Impact Loop. "We're looking to completely disrupt that model." Read article here: https://lnkd.in/dKqkE2fR

WINNERS of the 2026 Golden Globes Cannes Prize for Documentary, In Partnership with Artemis Rising Foundation....Joshua and Rebecca Tickell! The Tickell's climate-centred storytelling over many years has had such a huge impact, and their latest film "Groundswell" exemplifies the audience engagement power of stories which go beyond diagnosing problems to demonstrating solutions that work. The jury also awarded a Special Mention to Pegah Ahangarani (“Rehearsals for A Revolution”) for her courage and artistic resistance on behalf of Iranian women, and to help her film reach wide audiences. The jury spoke on a panel at Cannes ahead of the prizegiving about the artistic, social, and commercial value of documentaries, and their vision for how this initiative can change the film industry - and so, ultimately, the world.
