Integrating Virtual Production Workflows in Higher Education: New Studio Powered by hecoos

The best way to prepare students for a professional production environment is to give them one. Recently, a Beijing-based college built an xR production studio powered by hecoos xR/VP, giving students access to the same virtual production workflows used on professional commercial sets before they graduate.

The studio is equipped with a two-node hecoos xR/VP media server cluster. The rendering server handles real-time generation of complex 3D environments, while the compositing server merges performers with the digital scene. The studio is also equipped with a mechanical tracking crane, working in conjunction with hecoos to achieve precise camera spatial positioning and enable dynamic camera movement across a wide shooting range.

In the new studio, what students design in pre-production is what they see on the monitor during the shoot. Seeing creative decisions land in real time makes the learning stick, and tends to spark something deeper than academic interest.
