26-27 CCBJax Partnerships and Community Engagement VISTA

Since 1945, Catholic Charities Bureau Jacksonville (CCBJax) has served individuals and families across Northeast Florida who are experiencing poverty, housing instability, and food insecurity. As community needs continue to exceed available resources, CCBJax provides critical support through homelessness prevention, housing stabilization, food assistance, family support services, and English for Speakers of Other Languages classes. In addition, CCBJax provides summer camp experiences for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. These programs aim to help individuals achieve stability while addressing immediate basic needs. A key component of CCBJax’s impact is community engagement through volunteers, who assist with food distribution, outreach, client intake, and program support. As demand for services continues to grow and staffing capacity remains limited, the organization is focused on strengthening its volunteer infrastructure and community partnerships. Expanding and sustaining volunteer engagement is essential to increasing service capacity, improving program delivery, and ensuring long-term support for individuals and families in need. The VISTA Partnerships and Community Engagement Coordinator will build sustainable systems to recruit, train, and retain volunteers through schools, parishes, and community partners, expanding capacity to serve low-income individuals and families seeking stability. This VISTA position is a part of Catholic Charities USA’s Family Strengthening Program, a national intermediary project. As a member, you will meet virtually with VISTA Leaders and other VISTAs serving throughout the country, all focused on alleviating poverty.
