Your calendar is where most health advice goes to die.

The wearable says recover. The board pack says midnight. The plan says Zone 2. The flight lands at 06:10.

You know the basics. The gap opens when work, travel and family hit the protocol at once. The Upward ARC filters out anything that needs a perfect morning, an empty calendar or a compliant family.

THE EVIDENCE LIBRARY

The archive preserves what I sent. The evidence pages record what changed.

Maintained evidence pages accompany the longer Under Load editions, with key takeaways, common questions, numbered references, and a link back to the original issue.

FROM A RECENT ISSUE
I pulled the jar from the fridge, still cold. Standing at the kitchen counter between two training sessions, I ate 300 grams of raw minced meat and 300 grams of raw sauerkraut. It felt like I was doing something for my body that most people were too soft to do.

Twenty years of certainty. Then every human trial on fermented food.

YOUR EDITOR

I learned the body under pressure.

I trained in medicine, dentistry and reconstructive facial surgery. I spent the next two decades in operating rooms and boardrooms.

Before all that, I was a competitive freestyle wrestler. I learned what a body can take by using mine hard, cutting weight, training twice a day and collecting the injuries that come with it.

It has not been a tidy route. That is useful here. An idea has to survive more than one kind of pressure before I write about it, and every edition starts with a real story rather than a lecture.

Today I run 60-hour weeks and raise three children. I know what the research says. I also know what survives a red-eye, a deadline and a six-year-old who has rejected shoes.

THE DETAILS

Before you invite me into your inbox.

Who is this written for?

What arrives each week?

Under Load arrives every Sunday and takes about 10 minutes. The Next Move arrives every Wednesday and takes about 2 minutes.

How rigorous is the science?

Claims are checked against the underlying research. Under Load includes full references and the limits of the evidence. The Next Move is shorter, but every medical claim follows the same review standard.
