Our very own Claire Singleton, Chief People, Partnerships & Legal Officer, was featured in Legal Business yesterday. It's worth a read (subscription required).
Deals have been a constant thread through Resolution Life legal chief Claire Singleton’s career. From training at Jones Day in London during a corporate boom, to overseeing acquisitions and divestments at Legal & General, through to her company’s recent $10.6bn acquisition by Nippon Life, M&A has consistently defined her professional journey. Her career to date has also seen her often take a broader perspective than pure legal. Earlier this year she was handed an expanded remit at Resolution Life as the insurance group's chief people, partnerships and legal officer – a role that encompasses HR, compliance, sustainability and internal audit in addition to legal. Singleton spoke to Theresa Hargreaves about some of the key moments and forks in the road in her professional journey, including: - How she moved from pure legal roles to business and CEO positions at Legal & General; - Why she loves the managerial and commercial side of running a business; - What she learned from working on a deal early in her career in which fraudulent transactions were uncovered; and - Having the faith and confidence to push herself into uncharted territory. https://lnkd.in/dH5RkTSu
