STEINERT expands its presence in Mexico! Mexico is a rapidly growing market for advanced sorting and separation technologies. With the opening of STEINERT Mexico, we are enhancing our ability to support Mexican customers throughout the entire lifecycle of their equipment. A dedicated local warehouse and readily available spare parts will enable faster response times and maximise system uptime. Customers will also benefit from: - improved access to technical expertise - expert application consulting - Spanish-language service and support - closer collaboration throughout project planning and implementation Our expanded presence is already delivering results. One of our first major projects is a collaboration with DIMECA, a leading scrap metal processor in central Mexico. STEINERT will design and supply the separation equipment for a new ferrous metal recovery line capable of processing up to 20 tonnes of material per hour, helping maximise the recovery of valuable secondary raw materials. A big thank you to everyone who made this milestone possible. Here's to many successful partnerships in Mexico.

"STEINERT has been sorting recyclables for about 140 years. Today, that includes India." Himanshu G. is your expert for STEINERT there. Eleven years in the industry, most of it explaining how near infrared cameras read a mixed bale by polymer type, pull the PET out, and send everything else on before the wash line starts. If PET quality before extrusion is your problem, he's the one to call. His introduction video is below. #PETRecycling #RecyclingTechnology

India’s largest non-ferrous scrap recycler is proving where performance is truly decided. ♻️ At CMR Green Technologies Limited, which processes 600,000 tonnes of scrap each year, sorting is not simply one step in the process. It’s the point where a lot of value, quality and sustainability are won or lost. But sorting is complex. Vice President Ved Prakash Gupta captures the challenge clearly: “Sorting of scrap is the biggest challenge for any recycling industry.” The company’s latest success is built on sensor-based sorting systems from STEINERT, delivering consistent purity for global markets and high recovery rates. 🎥 Click here to see how STEINERT sorting systems contribute to CMR’s business: https://lnkd.in/ea_ZKfFw What do you see as the biggest sorting challenge in recycling right now? #CMRGreen #ScrapSorting #Secondary #Aluminium #StainlessSteel #SortingTechnology #Sustainability

HOW MUCH VALUE IS HIDDEN IN A COLOUR? In construction and demolition waste, the answer may lie between red brick and grey concrete. At first glance, both materials belong to the same mineral stream. For recycling, though, they can end up as different fractions, each headed down a different route back into use. This is one example of the material tests we run at the STEINERT MSort Test Center in Wedel. An MSort AT sorts the 20 to 80 mm fraction by colour, wet and no drying required. We make splitting red brick from grey concrete the easy part, so the recycler can focus on the harder part: shaping those fractions into material that holds up to the requirements of its intended application. #Waste #Sorting #Recycling #CircularEconomy #Sustainability

Ahlan wa sahlan! Have you already met our colleague Mohamad Hamed? 👋 Originally from Syria and now based in Dubai, Mohamad is responsible for the MENA region, North Africa and Turkey within STEINERT’s Metal Recycling division. Fluent in Arabic and English, he combines strong regional knowledge with an open, personable manner – something he demonstrates with plenty of charm in his video 🎥. In his personal introduction video, Mohamad shares how he found his way into the recycling industry and what continues to inspire him about the sector. He also offers his perspective on the key topics currently shaping metal recycling and explains where he sees the most important challenges and opportunities for companies across the region. With his understanding of the market, his industry experience and his ability to build genuine relationships, Mohamad supports customers in navigating both today’s challenges and tomorrow’s opportunities 🤝. Based in the MENA region or Turkey and looking to discuss your metal recycling challenges, opportunities or future plans? Get in touch with Mohamad. He will be delighted to connect and explore the right solutions for your business. #STEINERT #MENA #NorthAfrica #Turkey #MetalRecycling #MeetTheTeam

Light packaging sorting usually brings plastics to mind first. But steel and aluminium packaging also has to leave the stream at the right point. BZB retrofit in Amorebieta, Spain, recently shared by STADLER Group, is a good example of how many sorting steps need to work together in one line. Our part is metal separation: 2 STEINERT UME magnetic separators and 3 STEINERT EddyC eddy current separators. For an operator, the value is practical. Recoverable metals leave as their own fractions. Downstream sorting and processing does not carry material that should already be out of the line. Steel follows the magnet. Aluminium reacts to the eddy current separator. Thank you to BZB and Trienekens for the trust in this project. #WasteRecycling #Sustainability #CircularEconomy

At Dryden Aqua in Edinburgh, green and brown recycled glass is processed into AFM® (Activated Filter Media), a filter medium for water treatment applications. MSort AF sorting systems remove contaminants such as ceramics, stones and porcelain from material in the 4–60 mm range, producing the clean fraction required for AFM®. Find out more in the comments 👇

To recover the glass, we first remove everything else. Fines below 55 mm from mixed recyclables contain more than glass. Ferrous and non-ferrous metals, ceramic, stone and porcelain (CSP), films, e-cigarettes and black plastics are all closely mixed in the same stream. This means that the separation has to take place step by step. Depending on the material composition and the required quality, the process can produce four separate fractions: Fe, NFe, CSP and glass. At our Test and Development Centres, we tested this process sequence with MRF fines. In Pulheim, undersize and light material were removed first. A 𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐑𝐓 𝐔𝐌𝐄 then separated the ferrous metals. An 𝐞𝐝𝐝𝐲 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 followed to recover aluminium and other non-ferrous metals. The remaining heavy fraction was tested in Wedel. An 𝐌𝐒𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐀𝐗 used colour-based sensor sorting to remove CSP and black plastics. The glass fraction was recovered at the end of the sequence. The example shows how magnetic separation, eddy current separation and sensor sorting can work together. Each machine removes another part of the mix before the glass is recovered. Would you like to test your material? At our Test Centres, we test your material and work out a suitable sorting solution for your application. When George Adams of US recycling giant SA Recycling backs a technology, many people in the industry pay attention. 🔥 Because his decisions are not made on impulse. SA Recycling’s investment in STEINERT PLASMAX | LIBS sorting technology is exactly that kind of decision. George Adams has been one of the most recognisable figures in the US recycling industry for decades. He has seen markets shift, regulations tighten and customer expectations rise. That is why this move matters. It shows a clear view of where aluminium recycling is heading: towards precise alloy separation that protects value and supports stronger circular use of materials. For us, this is also about the relationship behind the technology. SA Recycling and STEINERT share a long-standing connection built on performance, reliability and mutual trust. Partnerships like that are not built overnight, and they do not continue without good reason. We are pleased to see this perspective reflected in Recycling Today: https://lnkd.in/g_qRhq-u ♻️ If you are also facing sorting challenges in metal recycling, please get in touch with us. Our experienced team will help you find exactly the right solution. #STEINERT #SARecycling #AluminiumAlloySorting #LIBSTechnology
