What does the future of housing look like? According to this recent Forbes feature, the answer starts with homes that are resilient, healthy, energy-efficient, and built for long-term value. That's why we're excited to see Brandon Bryant from Alair Asheville -Red Tree featured in Forbes for VISION House Asheville, a real-world project with Green Builder Media, LLC exploring what's possible when those priorities are built into a home from day one. https://lnkd.in/g85_azRm

“One of the biggest mistakes is waiting too long to think about appliances. Appliances influence everything from kitchen layout and cabinetry to ventilation and workflow, so they should be part of the design conversation from the beginning.” Our team sat down with some of the masterminds behind SKS Appliances and LG Electronics to discuss the evolution of kitchen and appliance design in our latest insights article. Infill has changed a lot over the past 10 years, and the BAAKFIL project in Edmonton, led by architect Barry Johns, is taking a whole new approach to urban design. Regional Partner Graeme Bell spoke with Kimberly Wynn at CTV News Edmonton, sharing how Alair is helping create new opportunities for communities without changing the fabric of mature neighbourhoods. Building custom allows homeowners to have autonomy over their wellness routines. Across the board, we’re noticing an increased demand in integrated wellness spaces in the homes we build. Homeowners seek built-in wellness spaces that are seamlessly integrated into their lifestyles. The ‘Touch of Brazil’ project by Alair Salt Lake is a fantastic example. The expansive home features multiple wellness areas, including an integrated sauna that seamlessly blends in with the design of the home.

Did you know? The materials and lighting in your home can have a direct impact on your overall mood and wellbeing. A home that features intentional surface materials and lighting can have a huge impact in how we live. From dimmable, calm lighting set ups to intentional surface material choices, the light and materials you select for your spaces heavily impact the atmosphere. Project Enatai, built by Alair Kirkland and designed by Medici Architects is a fantastic example of this. Each room features thoughtful selections of neutral colors and surface materials to evoke a sense of calm in every area, while the lighting design enhances the mood and atmosphere in each space.

How is landscape design intertwined with wellness? As a pillar of Wellness Architecture, the design of our landscapes and areas outside of the home can have a major impact on our overall wellness. Spending time outdoors can reduce stress, boost your mood, and also provide space for relaxation. Mindful landscape design can contribute to your overall well-being through the development of calming garden spaces, areas to unwind, or space to connect with one another. Let’s take this home by Alair Charleston | Structures as an example, designed by Rush Dixon Architects and landscape design by REMARK STUDIO. Built on James Island, the home beautifully encapsulates its surroundings, and provides ample space for relaxation and connection in its outdoor living spaces.
