Making Concrete That Matters.
About us
Concrete That Matters: CarbonCure Technologies is on a mission to empower cement and concrete producers with technologies and strategies to achieve the industry's net zero commitment by 2050. Across the global concrete industry, CarbonCure is scaling an integrated, drop-in solution, offering concrete producers a suite of hardware, software and services to increase the cement efficiency of their concrete products, reduce their production costs and meet demand for green building materials without compromising performance. CarbonCure’s technologies are retrofitted into concrete plants without disrupting operations and seamlessly integrate with existing batching processes. CarbonCure injects captured CO₂ across the concrete manufacturing process, with commercialized solutions for ready mix and precast concrete. Upon injection, CO₂ immediately mineralizes in concrete, becoming permanently embedded. Even if a structure is later demolished, the nanoparticles of mineralized carbon will not return to the atmosphere. This mineralization also enables producers to reduce the amount of cement needed for each truckload of concrete. A Carbon XPRIZE Grand Prize winner, Cleantech 100 Hall of Fame Company and a category leader in carbon utilization technologies for lower carbon concrete, CarbonCure delivers a true win-win, with environmental benefits for the world and economic benefits for concrete producers in one of the world's hardest-to-decarbonize industries. Three months into my role as CEO of CarbonCure Technologies, I’m spending as much time as possible on the front lines of our business. Dashboards, memos, virtual meetings & slide decks are valuable, but these can only get you so far. There is no comparison with firsthand experience: seeing our tech operating in plants, talking with our teams out in the field, and hearing from customers about their CarbonCure production, business needs and priorities. July took me across Asia, meeting with our APAC team and with the pioneering concrete producers who are putting our technologies to work every single day. In Singapore - joined by our Board Chair Onne van der Weijde, APAC VP Brad Vickers and APAC lead Jocelyn Campbell - we were thrilled to celebrate CarbonCure's long-standing partnership with the visionary team at Pan-United Corporation. In Taiwan, I greatly appreciated my visit with executives at #GoldsunBuildingMaterials, learning more about the Taiwanese market and their enthusiasm for solving the embodied carbon challenge. And at #YaTungReadymixedConcrete, our team recognized our newest collaboration in Asia and we observed our most recently installed system in action. All of this came on the heels of London Climate Action Week, where I intersected with our Sr. Director of Carbon Strategy Geoffrey Bishop and engaged with leaders across the cement and concrete industry and broader construction sector, including many friends and former colleagues who've been doing this work for decades and are now rethinking what "business as usual" looks like. Next stop: Brazil, for the 2026 Concrete Show, alongside our Sr. Director for Latin America, Rafael Diaz. Three months in, the thing that's struck me most isn't a single meeting or market. It's how global this shift already is. Concrete producers in Singapore, Taiwan, the UK, the U.S. and beyond are all asking the same questions: "How do we best prepare our business and products for the future?" “What low- or no-cost improvements can we make right now?" If you're curious about how CarbonCure can help address both of those questions or you have additional questions about our technologies, please reach out. #CarbonCure #GreenBuilding #ConcreteConstruction #Concrete

Last (and one of the best) summer conferences of the season for me! See you in Amelia Island Georgia friends!
Heading to the Georgia Ready Mixed Concrete Association's 57th Annual Meeting? Keep an eye out for CarbonCure's Alexandria Toler and Collin Bender. Don't forget to grab an ink dauber. CarbonCure is very glad to sponsor Bingo Night. Ali and Collin are looking forward to attending this premier gathering for Georgia's ready mixed concrete industry (July 19–22) at Omni Amelia Island, where producers and industry partners come together for a few days of connection and celebration. Connect with Ali and Collin about how CarbonCure helps producers improve their cement efficiency while maintaining compressive strength and winning more green building projects, especially with surging data center construction across Georgia and hyperscalers eager to trim their embodied carbon emissions: https://lnkd.in/gA5tRghJ #Concrete #ConcreteIndustry #CarbonCure #GRMCA

Proud to have contributed to CAGBC | Canada Green Building Council's new "Burying Carbon in Buildings: Low-Carbon Concrete Procurement Guide." I participated in a stakeholder interview late last year, on behalf of CarbonCure Technologies, alongside leaders from across the construction sector. A few themes came through loud and clear in the guide: 📋 Prescriptive specs are still very common and they're the single biggest barrier to lower carbon concrete. Until performance-based specifications become standard practice, innovation stays locked out of the mix design. 🎯 "One size fits all" doesn't exist. That's why the guide's three-tiered approach (Getting Started → Building Capability → Advanced Practice) makes so much sense. It meets specifiers where they are, whether they're writing their first performance spec or ready to set an explicit embodied carbon reduction target. 🚦Specifiers should permit carbon utilization (CCU) explicitly. The guide recommends naming permitted technologies directly in the embodied carbon section of a spec. That single move signals to suppliers that such innovation will be recognized and rewarded. For anyone working in procurement, structural engineering, sustainability or concrete construction, this is well worth your time. It's actionable guidance you can put into your next spec. Grateful to CAGBC and Eric Dunford at the Pratus Group for pulling this together. Reinforced Concrete Changed the American Skyline 🇺🇸 The earliest skyscrapers were constructed of skeletal iron and steel framing. But once engineers combined concrete with reinforcing steel, the composite material allowed for the birth of the modern high-rise. The compressive strength of the concrete combined with the tensile strength of the steel provides superior load-bearing capacity, unmatched structural durability, inherent fire resistance, and superior vibration dampening against high winds and earthquakes. With its design flexibility, reinforced concrete construction allows designers to reach unprecedented heights. As towers grew, designers realized concrete’s true potential for supertall structures. Modern super-skyscrapers began utilizing a massive reinforced concrete central core to resist twisting forces from the wind. Some historic reinforced concrete high-rise buildings include Central Park Tower and 432 Park Avenue (pictured here), both in New York City; 311 Wacker Drive, Marina City Twin Towers, and Two Prudential, all in Chicago; and One Shell Plaza in Houston. At 60 stories and 749 feet, 1072 West Peachtree recently topped out as Atlanta’s tallest residential and mixed-use tower and is the tallest structure not just in the U.S., but also in the world, to be built with carbon-mineralized concrete – with the help of National Ready Mixed Concrete Association members CarbonCure Technologies and Thomas Concrete, Inc. Think achieving your daily step goal is impressive? Meet CarbonCure Technical Services Specialist Jeff McDowell. Jeffery didn't just win our summer CarbonCure Moves competition—he completely crushed it by clocking 5,005 minutes (that's more than 83 hours!) of physical activity in just one month. Incredible, right? CarbonCure Moves is our twice-a-year challenge that encourages everyone on our team to take care of ourselves as much as we care for the planet. Jeffery is an inspiration, setting a new bar for what commitment to fitness looks like, logging all those minutes lifting weights, swimming, shadow boxing and more along the way. More than the number itself, it was watching Jeff show up for his health day-after-day that motivated the rest of our team. As our top mover, Jeff got to direct a $250 CarbonCure donation to the cause of his choice. He chose Nova Scotia Trails Federation, providing resources and support to more than 140 volunteer community groups and municipalities across the province, helping them to build and maintain safe and enjoyable trail experiences for all. NS Trails is also the official provincial partner of the Trans Canada Trail, the longest trail network in the world. Want to join a mission-driven team that pushes you to do your best work and be your best self? We've got great news. CarbonCure is hiring!
