Accelerating industrial decarbonization requires innovative technologies and strong collaboration.    We are pleased to announce a collaboration with MCi Carbon to support the commercial deployment of their mineral carbonation technology.     Through this collaboration, Hatch intends to support MCi across engineering, technoeconomic assessment, scale-up, technology integration, and execution planning to accelerate the commercial development of mineral carbonation plants.     MCi’s mineral carbonation technology permanently binds CO₂ into solid materials, producing low-carbon materials for use in industrial and construction supply chains.     We are excited to work with MCi Carbon as they progress robust, scalable, and commercially deployable pathways for carbon mineralization. One of a number of technologies we are supporting to accelerate industrial decarbonization.  Read more about the collaboration here: https://lnkd.in/g8fNJi74

No water, no mine. This fundamental fact is pushing the mining industry to rethink how projects are designed and operated sustainably, given the threat of climate change and resource constraints.   Hatch was pleased to join Mining NOW on their podcast to discuss the issue and examine how modern mining can address water challenges through innovation, integrated planning, and responsible management.   In this episode, Amanda L Alaica-Ciosek PhD PEng explains how water enables safe, sustainable, resilient mining operations, and why effective water stewardship is essential to the future of the industry.   Thank you to Rory Bamford, Mining NOW, and to the Mining Water Technology Share team for the opportunity to contribute to this important conversation. It was also great connecting with industry peers at CIM CONNECT and continuing the discussion around the future of mining and water management.   Listen to the episode here - https://lnkd.in/gDa_Q_ig   #NoWaterNoMine #Mining #WaterManagement #WaterStewardship #SustainableMining #MiningInnovation #ESG #FutureOfMining #Engineering #MiningNOW #CIMCONNECT #Hatch

What happens when increasingly severe storms, flooding, and other climate hazards threaten critical nuclear infrastructure?   These facilities face growing pressure to maintain safe, reliable operations while preparing for future uncertainties and reducing climate risks. The right response is to build resilience into infrastructure to protect it against extreme weather, as well as support low-carbon energy generation, reduce lifecycle emissions, and advance decarbonization goals.  In our latest blog, Mimi Ginger Wilde, P. Eng. Manager – Canada, Nuclear, at Hatch, explains how climate-resilient infrastructure design can help nuclear facilities continue delivering reliable, low-carbon power while withstanding a changing climate. A stronger rare earths supply chain starts with strategic investment. Hatch is pleased to have supported Ara Partners on the successful completion of its transaction with Energy Fuels, bringing Energy Fuels’ upstream rare earths mining project and separation assets together with Ara’s Vacuumschmelze, a leading advanced magnetics company. Acting as Technical Due Diligence Advisor, Hatch provided independent technical assessment of Energy Fuels' rare earth projects, covering mining, mineral processing, infrastructure, project development, permitting, schedule, CAPEX, OPEX, and key technical risks and opportunities. We appreciate the opportunity to work alongside the Ara Partners team on this landmark transaction and look forward to supporting future investments that help strengthen the critical minerals value chain. Aging transit assets, growing risk, and funding pressures are putting transit systems under strain. In his latest blog, Ignacio Sanz, PMP MBA MEng BCE CPEng FIEAust EngExec IntPE, managing director, Transit, Canada, explores why achieving a true state of good repair (SOGR) requires more than fixing assets as they fail. It demands a combination of engineering accountability, predictive maintenance, digital innovation, and robust life cycle cost modeling. From digital twins and AI-driven analytics to smarter funding strategies, learn how transit agencies can reduce risk, improve reliability, and build stronger business cases for renewal investments. As deferred maintenance needs continue to grow across North America, the question is no longer whether to invest in state of good repair, but how to do it effectively.
