ONPHA was pleased to meet with Ontario’s Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Rob Flack, and ministry staff yesterday to discuss how governments and housing providers can work together to strengthen community housing and deliver positive outcomes for Ontarians.🏘️ We shared the realities facing providers across the province, including key operating and capital pressures, and highlighted practical solutions to build, protect, and support community housing. We also discussed the future of the National Housing Strategy🍁 as an opportunity to align investments and support the long-term sustainability of community housing. By bringing together the experience of housing providers and the commitment of governments, we can help ensure investments have the greatest impact for communities across Ontario. 💡Community housing providers have the experience, expertise, and local knowledge to be strong partners in addressing housing challenges. With the right policies, investments, and collaboration across all levels of government, the sector can help maximize the impact of public dollars, deliver more affordable homes, and build stronger communities. Thank you to Minister Flack and his team for the thoughtful discussion and continued commitment to working with the community housing sector. We look forward to continuing to collaborate on practical housing solutions.
