Each November, Canadians from coast-to-coast-to-coast celebrate the importance of accessing meaningful work and all those that help us in connecting with our preferred futures. Career Month works to advance the agenda of improving access to career services and education so that all Canadians are better prepared to develop their careers and transition into the emergent labour market. The evergreen theme for Career Month is AMPLIFY. During Career Month, we are all invited to #amplify career development. There are so many ways we do this naturally in our work as Career Development Professionals: amplifying our voice in advocating for our sector amplifying people’s awareness of the work we do amplifying opportunities for underrepresented groups amplifying the voices of those advocating for social justice issues amplifying the sector’s profile, visibility, and accessibility amplifying the evidence base so career development is widely known and valued amplifying innovation in our field The list goes on! 🌟 Celebrating Canada Career Month 2025 🌟 Let’s #AMPLIFY Career Development! ➡️ Each November, Canadians from coast to coast to coast celebrate the enormous impact of career development and the incredible professionals who help individuals connect with their preferred futures. This year’s theme, AMPLIFY, invites all of us to raise our voices, to amplify career development in every way we can. 📌 At World Skills Employment Centre, our work is all about amplifying opportunities for internationally trained professionals (ITPs) to achieve their career and employment goals in Canada. Our team of more than 45 dedicated professionals works passionately to help thousands of ITPs every year navigate their new career landscape, from understanding the Canadian labour market to learning about networking, informational interviews, and crafting that first Canadian-style resume. 👏 We’re proud that five of our team members are certified Career Development Professionals, each with over 15 years of experience helping individuals succeed. Their certification has deepened their understanding of clients’ journeys and enriched our collective capacity to serve. Many others on our team bring backgrounds as educators and professionals from diverse sectors, together, we’re united by one goal: to empower newcomers to thrive in their new home. 🎯 As we celebrate Career Month, we also celebrate the impact of our work, reflected in the words of our clients: 🗨️ “Before being part of World Skills, I initially applied for a job and did not make it past the in-person interview which was very demotivating but I gave myself grace as that was my very first experience with job interviews in Canada as a newcomer. I later applied for a job in a Bank using a resume that I worked on with my Employment Specialist. When I got shortlisted I immediately informed him and we set up an interview preparation and I can testify that I learnt a great deal from the session. After my second in-person interview, I got the job and not only did I sign the offer but I was given a higher position to the one I initially applied for.” 🗨️ “I wanted to fill you in on my latest updates since the last meeting we had, as I mentioned I was having an interview for a Medical Admin. Assistant position. I would gladly like to inform you that I have passed the interview and have now started working. I am truly grateful for all your support and the resources you shared. They helped me a lot & guided me.
