Manufacture Roger Dubuis introduces the Excalibur Kabuto Legacy, a limited edition of 28 timepieces unveiled in Tokyo For more than a decade, the Maison has gathered twelve knights around the Round Table, each figure sculpted and finished by hand, each chapter drawn from a legend. It now turns toward Japan and introduces the Excalibur Kabuto Legacy, a timepiece built around twelve renowned bushō. At the centre of the dial stands Edo Castle with twelve family crest helmets surrounding it. The deep indigo of the dial and strap traces a single colour from the cloth worn beneath samurai armour to the prints of Hokusai and Hiroshige. In Geneva, the Maison designed, produced, and finished the calibre RD821 entirely in-house: 172 components, 88 quality controls, 14 types of finishing, certified by the Poinçon de Genève. In Japan, the armourers of Marutake bring the same patience to the forging and lacing of a kabuto. Mr. Roger Dubuis held a lasting admiration for Japanese craft, and the Maison's readiness to meet other traditions as equals is part of what he left behind. Ref.
