Coca-Cola HBC Austria aims for joint value creation and fostering its strong relation- and partnerships in the cinema channel. Thus, the task of conducting marked research on the Austrian cinema market was assigned to two teams of 7 WU CEMS students. Key focal points of the study were the frequency of cinema visits, consumption incidence, and teen recruitment. Data collection techniques included an online survey with over 500 respondents from Coca- Cola HBC target groups (pre-defined), 365 personal qualitative in-depth interviews at the POS, 150 observations at the POS and a holistic literature review on global best-practices. The main insights on these topics were highlighted and strategic recommendations to tap the full potential of Coca- Cola products in the Austrian cinema market have been provided to top executives from both Coca- Cola HBC and Cineplexx Kinobetriebe GmbH.

For our CEMS MIM core course on Strategic Management of Technological Innovations by Dr. Tatjana Samsonowa our multinational team had the pleasure to be working on a strategy consulting project for Daimler AG. The Mercedes Benz Cars division was looking into a way of improving its communication and knowledge sharing in the ramp up process of the new Daimler C-class model which is going to be produced at four plants located on four different continents. The strategy included a detailed problem analysis based on informations we found out by interviewing company representatives (Mrs. Fabiola Gerpott and Mrs. Elisa Voss) as well as international research on Strategy, Knowledge Management and Intellectual Capital concepts (i.e. Balanced Scorecard by Kaplan and Norton, 2004), recommendations and a plan for implementation as well as KPIs. We had the pleasure to participate in the Startup Live gig in Krems this spring with the idea of a Culinary Experience Creator. Ideally, this software and service platform brings together restaurants and brand associations of a certain region, and can match them with culinary enthusiasts who are interested in authentic culinary experiences. The Experience Creator makes it easy to create and market culinary experiences across channels and branches.
