Sustainability starts with how a product is built. With Terra Lounge, we’ve taken a different approach to construction. Both the outer shell and the inner foam are made from a single material, polyurethane. By removing traditional metal inserts, the components can be easily separated and recycled at the end of the product’s life. This approach is made possible by rigid polyurethane technology developed in collaboration with Essepieffe, one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of polyurethane components. Compared to metal inserts, this solution allows for lighter structures, high strength and consistent stability, while remaining fully recyclable. Last year, we also brought this technology in-house. With a new rigid polyurethane foaming machine at our subsidiary company, PUR seating, production now takes place locally in Boskovice. Different spaces call for different seating solutions. Designed in collaboration with Orlandini Design, Nido Bench is a modular bench seating system that can be configured into a wide range of layouts using upholstered connecting elements. Single, two and three seat benches can be arranged in straight, L, T, Y or X shaped configurations, while curved connecting elements make it possible to create circular and flowing compositions. Low backrests, armrests, tables and integrated power outlets allow each arrangement to be tailored to the needs of the space. An online configurator makes it easy to plan both simple and more complex layouts. All Nido Bench components are manufactured at our Boskovice production facility, giving us full control over quality, materials and the entire manufacturing process. #LDSeating #ModularSeating #ModularSystem #SeatingSolutions

From morning coffee to an evening drink, lounge spaces often serve more than one purpose. With a new integrated swivel side table, Terra Lounge by Orlandini Design becomes even better suited to the different ways these spaces are used throughout the day. Available for the L and XL models with a four star cross base, the table creates a convenient surface for drinks, books or laptops within easy reach. Available with black or bronze metal supports and tabletops in natural or black oak veneer, the new addition provides functionality while retaining the distinctive silhouette of the chair. Dynamic seating configurations, from compact lounge corners to larger public spaces. Pod is a modular seating system designed for lounge areas, reception spaces and shared interiors where flexibility matters throughout the day. Fully upholstered poufs with or without low backrests can be used individually or connected into linear and more organic arrangements using integrated connection points hidden around each module. A wide range of upholstery fabrics and metal leg finishes allows both monochrome and contrasting combinations, while optional side tables in matching finishes can be attached in multiple positions. All Pod elements are manufactured locally in Boskovice. The poufs combine moulded rigid polyurethane with a soft foam layer, and their separable material construction has been designed with long lasting use and easier recyclability. #LDSeating #ModularSeating #SeatingSolutions #DorigoDesign

This year, we collaborated with the Furniture and Interior Design Studio at Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, led by Roman Vrtiška and Vladimír Žák with the assistance of Petr Hák. The students were tasked with analysing our product portfolio and designing new products using steel tube bending technology. The goal was to explore ideas that could naturally expand the brand’s offering for office environments. Working closely with our metalworking team and Miroslav Hladil, Head of Metal Fabrication, the students developed their concepts from initial ideas through to fully functional 1:1 prototypes. Throughout the summer semester, they visited the production facility in Boskovice, where they worked alongside the team to bring their designs to life. The completed projects were then presented to LD Seating and a panel of experts during their final examinations. The resulting projects explored a wide range of functions and workplace scenarios. Roll introduced a sketch paper holder for meetings and brainstorming sessions, while Droppoint combined an umbrella stand with integrated greenery. Rang proposed a hanging coat rack built around an exposed cable system, Log explored a more playful approach to office seating and Squeeze used compression as both a structural and visual principle for a stackable stool. Lift integrated bag storage directly into a side table, TR33LLEY was designed as a mobile side table and BALLANCE responded to the growing need for flexibility in coworking environments. May has been a busy month for LD Seating, with a series of events across Europe bringing us closer to partners, architects and designers. From Zlin Design Week and PULSE Architecture & Design in Ostrava to Living Forum by INSTITUT BYTOVEHO DESIGNU in Prague and Clerkenwell Design Week in London, it was a great opportunity to share what we have been working on and, more importantly, to meet in person. Clerkenwell Design Week starts today, and we are part of the festival once again. Our showroom at 3 Clerkenwell Road, in the heart of London’s design district, will be open until 21 May, offering visitors a chance to experience the latest collections in person and spend time with the team. The Hotelkompetenzzentrum GmbH in Oberschleißheim near Munich offers a space where our products can be experienced in real-life settings. Across more than 3 500 m², Hotelkompetenzzentrum hosts architecture, interior design and project solutions in an environment that reflects everyday use. Visitors can explore, test and discuss products directly, making it a valuable place for hoteliers, architects and designers. We feature a selection of our seating solutions at Hotelkompetenzzentrum, from ergonomic office and conference chairs to modular systems and lounge seating, including Terra Lounge armchairs and Quadra sofas. Our exhibition space is designed to reflect how we approach seating, with a focus on materials, comfort and craftsmanship, allowing visitors to understand how our products work across different applications. Showcasing our seating at Hotelkompetenzzentrum keeps us connected to professionals across hospitality and project design, offering a year-round opportunity to share our work. Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate the launch of Terra Lounge in our London showroom on March 19. It was a pleasure to welcome architects, designers and partners for an evening dedicated to comfort, design and sustainability. Seeing Terra Lounge explored and discussed in person made the occasion especially rewarding. A special thank you to folco orlandini for sharing the thinking behind the collection and offering insight into the continuous form and construction that define Terra Lounge. The launch also featured two dedicated installations. The first places Terra Lounge within a bed of moss and grasses, drawing a clear connection to its name and its approach to sustainable design. The second installation offers a closer look at the construction, allowing visitors to see the rigid polyurethane shells and soft polyurethane foam up close and understand how the fully recyclable components work together. Terra Lounge remains on display at our showroom on 3 Clerkenwell Road for those who would like to explore the collection in more detail.
