Pride is about raising LGBTQIA+ voices, so we had a night filled with LGBTQIA+ people and businesses: comedian Philipp Leinenbach 🎤, drag queen Rachel Intervention 💃, DJ sets by Babbelonians 🎵, Istanbul-inspired food by Queer Mama Kitchen 🍛, and a powerful speech about why Pride matters from our CEO, Tim. Why Group Language Learning Works Better 🎯 Most people do not quit a new language because of discipline or talent, but rather, because they are learning alone 🫂 Research from Universitat de Barcelona shows that "language learning emerges through active, socially embedded communication". Studies in Frontiers of Human Neuroscience find that the brain activates extra regions when a new language is learned in social settings, not just with text. Dr. Ana Zappa and colleagues describe social interaction as "a catalyst for the eventual automatization of language skills", the moment when speaking starts to feel instinctive 📚 💡Here are 3 simple ways to use that insight: 1️⃣ Challenge each other: Compare streaks, do quick vocab check ins, share small wins. Friendly competition keeps you going when motivation dips. 2️⃣ Create conversation sessions: 10 to 15 minutes a week, one easy topic, and a "target language first" rule. Speaking is the skill that really counts. 3️⃣ Build a shared study plan: Keep it realistic, for example 10 minutes a day, and hold each other accountable. Consistency beats intensity.
