DHL wants a legal rule that packages over 23kg can only be delivered by two people. Right now German law already requires two couriers for anything over 20kg, but there's an exception if the courier has suitable lifting equipment, allowing one person to handle it alone. DHL has been fairly skeptical about what actually counts as suitable equipment there. Worth noting the overall max weight DHL currently accepts for a package is 31.5kg, that's not changing, this is specifically about how many people are needed to deliver the heavier ones. The reasoning makes sense: less physical strain on delivery staff, backed by a new training and injury-prevention program DHL is rolling out across 150 locations to teach couriers safer ways to lift and carry heavy packages. For merchants selling heavier products like furniture, appliances or fitness equipment, this is worth keeping an eye on. A similar proposal failed in parliament back in 2024/25, so nothing is set in stone yet. But if this rule does pass, deliveries of heavier items could get slower and more expensive, since carriers would need to send two people instead of one. It's a good reminder that shipping rules for bulky or heavy items don't always change gradually, sometimes a single announcement like this can shift the whole cost and capacity picture overnight, and carriers may adjust their own pricing or capacity long before any law is actually passed. Merchants who build some flexibility into their shipping setup now, instead of waiting to see how the regulation eventually plays out, will have a much easier time adjusting once carriers or lawmakers actually move on this. The ones caught off guard are usually the ones who assumed they had more time than they actually did.

Some of the best moments at work don't happen in meetings- they happen in between them. 💚 Last week, we welcomed teammates from Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia, and across Germany to our Munich HQ for our summer onsite. For a few days, laptops stayed open, but so did the conversations. We shared meals, caught up in person, explored Bavaria together, and ended the week with an E-MTB tour, a traditional Bavarian lunch at the Wallberghaus, and a visit to the Waldfest. Working across different countries is part of our everyday life. Spending time together in person reminds us that behind every Slack message and video call is a team that genuinely enjoys building, learning, and growing together. It was seeing colleagues from different teams combine their expertise, challenge each other's ideas, and build solutions that have the potential to improve how we work every day. 🚨 New EU import rules are now in effect. 🚨 As of July 1, 2026, the EU has abolished the €150 customs duty exemption for low-value imports from non-EU countries. What changes? A flat €3 customs duty now applies per product category ("item") for shipments worth up to €150. For example: ➡️ An order containing 4 pairs of socks is charged €3 (one product category). ➡️ An order with socks, a plush toy, and a phone charger is charged €9 (three product categories). For years, many low-cost imports benefited from this exemption, giving non-EU sellers a pricing advantage in the European market. As our Co-Founder Johannes pointed out in his post yesterday, this changes the playing field. European brands that have already invested in local inventory, fulfillment and resilient supply chains are now in a much stronger competitive position. The takeaway? Preparing your logistics strategy early isn't just about operational efficiency anymore, it can become a real competitive advantage when regulations change.

Excited for our upcoming onsite in Munich! 🎉 In just two weeks, we'll gather everyone at our Munich HQ, including our colleagues from Belgrade, Sarajevo, Zagreb and our remote team members, for a week of collaboration, innovation, and team building.
