One of the most important hires I’ll make for Hyperdrives and I’m coming to my network first. We’re looking for a Head of Business Development & Sales. We spent the last few years building a foundational technology that will fundamentally change what electric motors deliver. We don’t build another electric motor - we build a platform that turbocharges electric motors across industries: breakthrough performance, lower cost, built for industrial scale and a more resilient supply chain. It’s real, it’s validated, and we’re already working with some of the most demanding engineering teams in the world. Now I need the person who helps us scale globally. This isn’t a typical sales role. You’ll work closely with me and the founding team to shape the commercial face of Hyperdrives for years to come, play a key role in determining where we go next, build from the ground up, and lead. ⚙️ Speaker Spotlight: Michael Numberger - BROCKHAUS Motor Workshop 2026 We are pleased to welcome Michael Numberger, CTO and co-founder of Hyperdrives, to the BROCKHAUS Motor Workshop on July 2, 2026, in Densbüren, Switzerland. 🎤 Presentation Title: “Pushing the Limits – Dyno Test Results and Learnings from ULTRA” 🔍 Presentation Overview: In his presentation, Michael Numberger will share the latest dyno test results of ULTRA, Hyperdrives’ latest drive featuring directly cooled hollow hairpin windings and 25kW/kg peak power density. The session will present measured performance data, including thermal behaviour, efficiency, and continuous operating capability. In addition, the presentation will provide insights into the development process and key engineering learnings gained during the program. A particular focus will be placed on the investigation of iron losses using advanced measurement and characterization equipment provided by Brockhaus Measurements. These studies enabled a deeper understanding of loss mechanisms within the machine and led to further design optimizations, resulting in improved overall performance and efficiency. 🧠 About the Speaker: Michael Numberger is CTO and co-founder of Hyperdrives, launched in 2021 with Benjamin Hengstler and Robin Renz. He leads the electromagnetic design and pre-development of next-generation electric drive systems. Taking on the Porsche killer! 🏁 In the January issue of Springer Fachmedien: ATZ/MTZ, we had the opportunity to contribute a cover story featuring a like-for-like cost and performance benchmark against one of the toughest reference points in the market today: the Xiaomi Technology SU7 motor - the EV that famously took the Nürburgring record from Porsche lately. In the 8-page article, co-authored by Johannes Flemming (P3) and our CTO Michael Numberger, we present an in-depth, bottom-up cost analysis comparing Xiaomi’s SU7 IPM motor with a directly cooled Hyperdrives hollow-conductor benchmark design. The question we wanted to answer: how many hard €€€ can we get out of the system, while matching the exact same performance envelope? P3 performed a full teardown and meticulous bill-of-materials and production cost analysis for both machines - not a rule-of-thumb estimate, but a detailed, process-level model. The result, in a nutshell: - Same rotor concept and outer packaging for maximum comparability - 25% shorter active motor length (109 mm vs. 145 mm) - 8 kg lower system mass - Identical efficiency over an automotive duty cycle - >101 € cost reduction per unit on a system level (after accounting for the higher phase current on the inverter side) For a mass-volume product, that is a remarkable value potential! With a lot of generic talk in our industry about “cost-down potential", this study puts hard data and independent validation behind the claim. It shows that direct hollow-conductor stator cooling enables a combination of power density, efficiency, and cost structure that was previously out of reach, even when benchmarking against a Nürburgring-proven reference.
