Fostering long-term partnerships for Ukraine’s film industry 🎥 North Rhine-Westphalia is one of Europe's leading media hubs and an important partner for Ukraine's creative industries. #NRWGlobalBusiness co-organized a roundtable "The Ukrainian Film Industry in North Rhine-Westphalia" as part of the "Ukrainian Film Days NRW 2026 – Europe Dialogue: NRW-Ukraine" in Düsseldorf. The event brought together representatives from the Ukrainian film and creative industries alongside government institutions, including Staatskanzlei des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen, Ministerium für Wirtschaft, Industrie, Klimaschutz und Energie des Landes NRW, Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, Creative Europe Desk NRW, Ukrainian Cinema Days NRW as well as key players from the European audiovisual sector. The discussion focused on how long-term partnerships can strengthen the presence of Ukrainian filmmakers and creative professionals in #NRW. Key topics included: ✅️ Building sustainable networks between Ukrainian filmmakers, investors and institutions in NRW ✅️ Exploring financing opportunities and international funding programs for Ukrainian producers ✅️ Supporting the establishment of Ukrainian film production, media and creative companies in NRW By connecting stakeholders, fostering collaboration and creating new business opportunities, North Rhine-Westphalia continues to strengthen its role as an attractive location for international creative industries and audiovisual production. The high-level visit of the Special Envoy for Business & Philanthropy to North Rhine-Westphalia was an important step in further deepening the economic relationship between the UAE and Germany. We were honored to welcome H.E. Badr Jafar and his delegation to Düsseldorf and contribute to the discussion of new opportunities for cooperation in investment, innovation and technology transfer. With its strong industrial base and leading innovation ecosystem, North Rhine-Westphalia offers excellent conditions for expanding collaboration with partners from the UAE. The program included meetings with Wilo Group, Covestro, Henkel, TKMS and SEFE Energy GmbH, as well as a visit to Henkel's headquarters and production facilities and highlighted the broad potential for future cooperation.
