Today started with a call that truly surprised me. When our CFO Nicola Czymek-Lauer called me this morning, my first thought was, of course, about the business. Instead, she and the team had arranged a moment to congratulate me on my 10-year anniversary as CEO of NTT DATA Business Solutions. They surprised me with personal messages from our leadership team and photos from the past decade – a real walk down memory lane. In 2016, after eight years as CFO, I succeeded our founder, Herbert Vogel, as CEO. I knew this role came with a special responsibility: to build on a strong entrepreneurial legacy and lead the company into its next chapter. Looking back, I feel proud of what we have built together. We have grown as a company, strengthened our global footprint, deepened our partnerships and supported many customers on their transformation journeys. Throughout the day, I received many messages from colleagues, partners and friends across NTT DATA Business Solutions and NTT DATA, Inc. Reading them made me reflect on what has shaped this journey most: strong relationships, trust and the commitment of the people who have accompanied, challenged and inspired me over the years. Today was a good reminder of how much we have achieved and how much opportunity still lies ahead. Transformation, cloud and AI will continue to reshape our customers’ businesses. Our role is to help them navigate this change and turn it into real value.
