❓Should we build energy for abundance or manage scarcity?  ❓Is space becoming a billionaire's playground or is it the critical infrastructure of tomorrow?  ❓Is Europe's sovereignty premium an insurance policy for the future, or simply another cost?  ❓ And when it comes to AI and robotics: what's hype, and what's already reshaping the clean industrial race? These were just a few of the big questions explored at Planet A Summit 2026 – bringing together founders, investors, scientists and operators from across the European deep tech ecosystem and turning Berlin into a hub for conversations about the future of impact and technology. Our Startup Berlin team was on the ground for, speaking with founders, investors and ecosystem leaders about one question in particular: Can Europe win deeptech and what role can Berlin play? ☀️ Even during summer break, our Diversity Working Group didn't slow down. We welcomed our new members Charlotte J. Sigel from Science & Startups and Nina Beike from encourageventures e.V., introduced our new co-lead Phil Schwarick from Business Angels Club Berlin-Brandenburg e.V. (BACB), exchanged updates from across the startup and innovation ecosystem, and aligned on the next steps for the months ahead.   What excites us most is the focus and direction we agreed on. ⚡ Big ideas for the energy transition took the stage at the „Energie Startup Pokal 2026“ at Future Energy Lab in Berlin. Ten startups pitched solutions tackling the future of energy, heating and mobility – from battery diagnostics and hydrogen storage to AI-powered building decarbonization and giving retired wind turbine blades a second life. 🏆 The winner: Nanolope GmbH, a Berlin startup, impressed the jury with its invisible energy storage technology that turns indoor spaces into sustainable thermal batteries, helping reduce heating costs and the need for conventional air conditioning.  Congrats to Nanolope for reminding us that some of the most exciting climate tech innovation is happening right here in Berlin 👏 The Energie Startup Pokal, organized by energy accelerator AXEL - Der Energie-Accelerator since 2018, continues to shine a spotlight on groundbreaking innovations and the startups driving the energy transition.     #StartupBerlin #CityofImpact
