Electronically Tunable Simulated Transformer and Its Application to Stagger-Tuned Filter

In this paper, an active network simulating mutually coupled inductors employing four second-gene... more In this paper, an active network simulating mutually coupled inductors employing four second-generation current controlled conveyors, five resistors, and only two grounded capacitors is presented. The primary, secondary, and mutual simulated inductances of the circuit are independent and can be electronically tuned. The proposed circuit represents a synthetic transformer and has a positive mutual inductance. As an application, the proposed transformer is used to construct a stagger-tuned filter. Simulation Program with Integrated Circuit Emphasis (SPICE) simulation and experimental results are given to verify the theoretical analysis.

All-Pass Sections with High Gain Opportunity

In this paper, two new circuits for realizing firstorder voltage-mode (VM) all-pass section (APS)... more In this paper, two new circuits for realizing firstorder voltage-mode (VM) all-pass section (APS) with variable gain are presented. The first proposed filter uses a single differential difference current conveyor (DDCC), one grounded capacitor and three resistors. The second proposed filter consists of two DDCCs, three grounded resistors and one grounded capacitor. It provides highinput and low-output impedances and can provide high gain. Both of the proposed circuits do not require any element matching condition. Moreover, oscillator circuits with minimum number of active and passive elements are derived from the proposed APSs. The proposed circuits are tested experimentally or by simulation using SPICE program to confirm the theory.

In the proposed F-D CM APF a single adjustable current amplifier (ACA) and two current followers (CFs) with non-unity gain are used as active building blocks. Considering the input intrinsic resistance of CFs as useful active filter parameter, the proposed filter employs only a floating capacitor as external passive component. The pole frequency of the proposed resistorless circuit can be tuned via mutual change of input intrinsic resistance of CFs while the filter pass-band gain by means of gain of ACA. The theoretical results are verified by SPICE simulations, where TSMC 0.18 ȝm level-7 SCN018 CMOS process parameters were used.

The first and second squarer configurations respectively use two PMOS and two NMOS transistors while the third one employs three PMOS and one NMOS transistors. A CM full-wave rectifier with high output impedance current is developed. All of the proposed circuits provide several advantages such as low number of components and less power consumption. The proposed circuits are simulated using SPICE program to demonstrate their performance and workability.

In this paper, a new active element called voltage differencing inverting buffered amplifier (VDI... more In this paper, a new active element called voltage differencing inverting buffered amplifier (VDIBA) is presented. Using single VDIBA and capacitor a new resistorless voltage-mode first-order all-pass filter is proposed, which provides both inverting and non-inverting outputs at the same configuration simultaneously. The pole frequency of the filter can be easily controlled by means of internal transconductance. No component-matching conditions are required and it has low sensitivity. The theoretical results are verified by SPICE simulations using commercially available integrated circuit models.

The performances of the circuits are tested using SPICE simulation program.
