🚀 Enabling OWE Capability: The Role of Cata Launchers in Recent UK Trials Through ASGARD, Threod Systems’ Cata B launcher has demonstrated its role as adaptable launch infrastructure for testing, integrating and operating different UAV and OWE platforms. During Exercise Spring Storm 2026 in Estonia, Cata B was used with the Callen-Lenz Nyan OWE in a land setting, with the British Army, including 26 Royal Artillery Regiment, as system user. The recent Royal Navy trial from XV Patrick Blackett showed how similar OWE launch concepts can also be explored in the maritime domain, supporting broader experimentation with autonomy, counter-UAV capabilities and the Hybrid Navy concept. 🤝 Future OWE capability needs effectors and the launch infrastructure to make them deployable. #Cata #Launcher #UAS #DefenceTechnology #ASGARD #SpringStorm2026 #MaritimeDefence

👀 What does Estonian defence industry look like today? A clear snapshot came from the Estonian defence industry exhibition held as part of the Higher National Defence Courses, where Estonian companies introduced their work and products. 🙌 It is a practical reminder that domestic capability is built across many specialisms, from platforms and payloads to integration and support. That breadth matters for national resilience and for partners who value reliable, long term cooperation with teams that design and manufacture in Estonia. Threod Systems was represented by Karl Joosep Einmann and Sven Jürgenson, who brought our fully electric Eos C VTOL reconnaissance aircraft, electro-optical systems, and the mobile ground control station we call iVan. ✈️ This week our Chief Executive Officer, Arno Vaik, and Regional Sales Manager, Maksim Orlov, visited Ukraine as part of an Estonian defence industry business delegation. The visit included business seminars and meetings, a product display, and a field demonstration at a test area. For Threod, time spent with local stakeholders helps keep our development work grounded in a clear understanding of what systems face in real conditions. We have worked closely with local partners since our systems were in use in Ukraine before the war began in 2022. The EOS VTOL conducted its first flights in Ukraine in 2017 as part of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission, and later supported the Ukrainian Armed Forces. 💪 When our instructors usually train end users, this week the learning went in house. This week, our launch systems team delivered a focused Cata B familiarisation package for our Sales colleagues. The emphasis was on hands on execution in the same two person team structure used in real operation. By the end of day two, each team independently prepared Cata B for launch, conducted a launch, and repacked the system for transport.
