The international teams have created an assembly line, where components of hundreds of tonnes are positioned smoothly within millimetric accuracy. Ready to manufacture ITER’s upper launchers! ⚡ At the heart of #ITER, four launchers made by Europe will shoot powerful microwaves into the plasma to keep the fusion reaction running. In the last years, our challenge has been turning their highly complex design into reliable manufacturing solutions. And we’ve made it! F4E and partners passed the last major design review, paving the way for production. Through countless analyses, prototypes and tests, we have industrialised this first-of-a-kind technology. 🤝 An excellent European collaboration across research and industry. The F4E Supply Chain Excellence Awards are launched! ⭐ Europe’s fusion supply chain counts more than 3,000 companies, each with their story of innovation, growth and delivery for fusion. To celebrate this industrial journey, F4E will select and recognise companies with an outstanding contribution. Five categories: 🏅Excellence in Delivery 🏅Innovation Pioneer 🏅Sustainability Champion 🏅SME Rising Star 🏅Collaborative Partnership. The call is open to firms of any size having worked for F4E. Learn to master F4E’s advanced neutronics tools 💡 Fusion for Energy (F4E) is inviting experts from laboratories, supply chain and fusion start-ups to explore innovative neutronic tools and share best practices. Our teams and partners have developed a suite of open-source tools for radiation modelling and analysis, applied in projects like #ITER and with a broad potential. A pleasure to welcome the Ambassador of Ireland to Spain, Brian Glynn, to F4E’s Barcelona headquarters. Thank you for the exchange on the priorities set by the Irish Presidency of the Council of the European Union. #Ireland2026EU F4E Director Marc Lachaise introduced F4E’s mission, its contribution to ambitious projects like #ITER and highlighted the strategic importance of fusion. The work performed by F4E feeds directly into the areas of competitiveness, research & innovation, energy transition, and sovereignty. These are key priorities for Europe and should be reflected in the EU budget (2028-2034). The last components of MITICA have arrived! 🚚 Fusion for Energy and its supply chain delivered the last major systems for MITICA, the full-scale prototype of ITER's Neutral Beam Injector, built to unprecedented size and power. Two challenging technologies: 🔹The calorimeter: part of the beam line, designed to measure the beam and evacuate heat. Manufactured by AVS Added Value Solutions and TECNALIA Research & Innovation. 🔹The beam source: where high-energy particles are generated and accelerated. Manufactured by ALSYMEX and a chain of European suppliers. ✅ Both systems completed on-site tests, and Consorzio RFX will soon begin preparing for their installation. Delivered! ✅ Europe’s first Remote Handling tool is in ITER. Fusion for Energy (F4E) is developing a fleet of advanced robotic systems for the assembly and maintenance the largest fusion device. In collaboration with Ansaldo Nucleare and ITER Organization, we completed the first tool, made for the assembly of Equatorial Port Plugs. The machine, manufactured by the SME Officine LCM, will carry 48-tonne plugs and slide them into the Vacuum Vessel with millimetric precision. The full-scale tests proved it is ready and the tool is already in its new home. Well done to all the contributors! President of the European Council António Costa visits ITER  🇪🇺 The F4E Director Marc Lachaise and ITER Organization Director-General Pietro Barabaschi, together with European Commission EU Energy, welcomed President António Costa, and members of his cabinet, to the #ITER site in Cadarache. The delegation witnessed the progress of the world’s largest fusion project, a stepping stone towards a clean, safe, energy mix that will help Europe combat climate change and cut down CO2 emissions.  Our Director highlighted how the investment made by F4E is strengthening Europe’s supply chain, feeding into our energy sovereignty and boosting our competitiveness in a strategic technology while being environmentally responsible.
