Another year of Sentinel Online in the books. This week the team came together for our annual review, hosted by Airbus Defence and Space at their site in Guildford. A huge thank you to Airbus Geospatial and Secure Connectivity Solutions UK for having us. Special thanks to Bogdana Tsonevska Perrotte, Technical Officer and Copernicus Service and Operational manager at European Space Agency - ESA, for her guidance and support throughout the year. It was a chance to look back at everything we've delivered over the past year for the European Union's Copernicus Earth observation programme. None of it happens without the partnership behind it. Sentinel Online is delivered by three companies working closely together, and we're grateful to Airbus Defence and Space, Wiser Technology and sociaw for everything each brings to the table. This year's Space Economy Congress in Barcelona sparked a number of interesting discussions. Without a doubt one hot topic is the way AI is changing accesibility to EO data. I’m excited to announce that I’ll be interning at sociaw in Barcelona this summer!! 🇪🇸✨ Contributing to work at the intersection of deep‑tech, biotech, and scientific innovation. 🧬 With strengths that bridge scientific analysis, strategic thinking, and creative communication, this role aligns perfectly with the direction I’m intentionally building toward. 🔑 My academic background in Biomedical Science, combined with my experience running a business and leading creative projects, has shaped my passion for roles where analytical thinking, communication, and tech-driven innovation intersect. I’m looking forward to contributing to projects while developing new skills hands-on. Yesterday we joined the conference “Artificial Intelligence and Earth Observation: From Innovation to Services.” A big thank you to the organisers and speakers who shared concrete perspectives on how AI is moving from research environments into operational Earth Observation services. What became clear throughout the discussions is that the conversation around AI in Earth observation is no longer about possibility. It is about integration, usability, and real services. The next phase of the sector will be defined by how well we connect complex data infrastructures with tools that make them truly accessible. Exciting times ahead for the EO community.
