You blame Claude but you wrote the prompt. Here are the 5 fixes: 1. Get specific. "Write an email" gives you a robot. "Write a 4-line reply to a client who missed our call. Warm but firm." gives you something you can send. 2. Show instead of describe. Describing your style gives you a description of it. Pasting 3 things you've written gives you your actual voice. 3. Say what you want. "Stop being so formal" barely works. "Write it like a text to a colleague" nails it. 4. Start small. A giant first prompt rarely lands. 2 sentences first. Then build: make it shorter, warmer, add a section. 5. Make it interview you. Let Claude ask for what it needs. Type "Ask me questions to complete this task." Answer them, then let it do the work. Writing emails from scratch in 2026 is embarrassing Here's what I do instead (only takes 2 minutes): Step 1. Install Granola. ai. It's free. → It silently transcribes every Zoom/Teams/Meet call you join. No bot creeping in your meeting. → People talk normally & you get the real conversation. Always open Granola when in calls. (To gather the context of all your meetings.) Step 2. Open the Claude desktop app. → Settings > Connector > Connect Gmail + Granola → Claude can now read your inbox AND meeting transcripts at the same time. → Most people connect just Gmail. It's not enough. → Without Granola, Claude drafts emails with zero memory of what was actually said in the meetings. Step 3. Open the email you need to reply to. → Note the sender + the meeting it ties to. → This step is what makes the prompt 10x sharper. → You're telling Claude exactly where to look in Granola so it doesn't guess. Step 4. Prompt Claude (with context): "Pull [sender]'s email about [topic]. Search Granola for our meetings on [topic] in the last [timeframe]. Draft a reply that [confirms / answers / declines]. Tone: warm + direct. Length: short." Step 5. Ask Claude to "save as draft." → It lands in your Gmail. 0 copy and paste. You just open Gmail, review it, and hit send. → The whole loop happens without leaving Claude. Pro tip: Don't grant write access on day one. Read-only first. You're writing prompts wrong. Replace them with this: "I want to [TASK] for [SUCCESS CRITERIA]. Ask me questions before starting." Swap [TASK] for the thing you want made. Swap [SUCCESS CRITERIA] for what good looks like. The first line gives Claude the job and the finish line at once. The second line stops it from guessing. Claude asks what it's missing before it builds. You answer in a few seconds. It gets the thing right the first time. Example: "I want to build a client onboarding checklist for a 3-person agency, one page max. Ask me questions before starting." Watch what happens next. Claude comes back with 3 or 4 sharp questions before writing a word. Who owns each step. What tools you use. Where clients drop off. You spend 30 seconds answering. The smartest model is the priciest one. Here's when Fable 5 is worth it: Send it to Fable 5 when: 1. The problem is open-ended and needs a real plan. 2. A wrong answer costs you time or money. 3.
