The CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease) affects 1 in 10 people and progresses in an epidemic fashion on the breeding ground of obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, and an aging population. In this context, Ki'TECH’s mission is : - to monitor the evolution of the CKD and facilitate its management in a coordinated manner by the various healthcare stakeholders, - to delay the evolution of the CKD, - to improve the quality of life of patients at all stages of the disease, and reduce its burden on our societies and our states, while contributing to the development of rich and personalised care services. For this purpose, Ki'TECH develops innovative minimally invasive biosensors, backed by an orchestration platform based on an holistic approach.

Nephrologists know how potassium levels can escalate in patients with Chronic Kidney Disease or Heart Failure, often silently, until complications arise. That’s why at Ki'TECH SAS, with Gilles SCHUTZ, we are developing in collaboration with the Fraunhofer IMM a breakthrough solution based on a minimally invasive patch that enables real-time potassium monitoring at home. This innovation has the potential to transform care by empowering patients, informing practitioners in real time, reducing emergency interventions, and paving the way for truly personalized medicine. At Ki'TECH SAS, we believe that potassium monitoring should be as accessible as glucose monitoring. Since Ki'tech's inception we are working on it. We have focused on technological development and risk mitigation. It has been a challenging journey, but we can be proud of the progress we have made. 💡 What if checking your potassium levels at home was as easy as checking your blood sugar? Especially for people living with chronic kidney disease or heart failure high potassium levels in the blood can be life-threatening. Yet monitoring is still tied to hospital visits and lab tests. Together with the French start-up Ki’tech, Fraunhofer IMM is developing a minimally invasive patch that measures potassium levels in interstitial fluid beneath the skin. Results are shown in real time via a smartphone app, enabling independent and simple at-home monitoring.
