Empowering everyone to build a better Hong Kong through volunteering.

About us

Founded in 2007, HandsOn Hong Kong's mission is to empower everyone to build a better Hong Kong through volunteering. We partner with the city’s non-profit organisations to amplify their impact by mobilising the volunteers and the resources they need to achieve their mission. Each month, we run 200 volunteer activities as a free public service, empowering and uplifting Hong Kong's incredible non-profit sector. These volunteers deliver food packages to vulnerable families, provide support for lonely elderly, uplift overburdened carers, show kindness to people experiencing homelessness, and much more. Every day of the year, HandsOn provides vital behind-the-scenes assistance, serving as an extension of their teams and ensuring no charity serves alone.

  • 🏛️ Connecting Generations Through History & Heart Recently, 8 wonderful volunteers from Schroders paired up with 19 elderly residents from Kwong Fuk Estate for a beautiful day of history, connection, and community support! Here is a glimpse into our day together: 🕰️ A Step Back in Time: We kicked off the morning with a guided tour of the Hong Kong Heritage Museum. Exploring the exhibitions together sparked wonderful nostalgia and brought back fond memories for the seniors. 🍴 Good Food & Great Chats: Over a relaxed lunch, volunteers and seniors swapped stories, shared plenty of laughs, and truly bonded. 💛 Community Walk: In the afternoon, the team walked around Kwong Fuk Estate with the residents, learning firsthand about the community's ongoing recovery after the recent fire. By simply listening and being there, the volunteers created a warm space where the seniors felt deeply valued and heard. ❤️ 🙌 A huge thank you to the Schroders volunteers for their warmth and patience, and to our partner, Good Neighbour Network Kwong Fuk, for making this meaningful day possible!

  • Cathay Pacific volunteer ambassadors teamed up with students from the "I Can Fly Youth Academy"—Cathay Pacific’s flagship program empowering local youth through aviation, personal development, and community service. ✈️🌟 They joined forces 🤝 at Luk Heung Commons for a meaningful Community Engagement Day! Divided into teams named after iconic aircrafts ✈️, volunteers tackled two hands-on sustainability projects: ⛰️ Teams Anson, Dakota & Catalina: Mastered traditional stone basket braiding—a sustainable trail restoration technique that protects Hong Kong's countryside and keeps hikers safe. A big thank you to the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department for guiding and facilitating the session! 🎨 Team Electra: Got creative with upcycling! They transformed discarded aluminum cans and colorful chalk art into a vibrant, unique artwork. HandsOn, Luk Heung Common and the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department would like to say a huge thank you to Cathay Pacific and their brilliant "I Can Fly Youth Academy" students for making the day such a success. 🌟

  • 🌟🐶Getting our hands dirty for rescued animals! 👉We kicked off our very first volunteer program with Boehringer Ingelheim, and we’re thrilled to say it’s only the start of an exciting partnership. With six volunteer programs scheduled, there is a lot more to come! 🧽🧹Alongside our NGO partner, Hong Kong Saving Cat and Dog Association, 18 dedicated volunteers supported more than 100 rescued dogs at the shelter in Yuen Long. The team worked hard cleaning cages and grounds, clearing drains, and packing waste. 💌A huge thank you to the Boehringer Ingelheim team for showing up with such "paw-sitive" energy and passion. We're looking forward to getting hands-on again!
