Job Descriptions for the 2026-2027 Biennium

Job descriptions are routinely updated after the end of each legislative session to denote changes in salary groups, new job classification series, new job classification levels, and title changes. In addition, other job classification series may be revised at this time, if warranted.

The Job Description Index may be sorted by Classification Code, Classification Title, Salary Group, or Occupational Category. You may view the job descriptions by clicking on the Class Code or Class Title. The index is currently sorted by Class Code.

To filter the job descriptions, enter the filter text in the search box. For example, if you want to see job descriptions for accountants, type "accountant" in the search box. Job descriptions with "accountant" in the title will appear in the grid.

Please note that this is not a list of current job vacancies. Job postings may be found on the WorkInTexas website.

The military crosswalk is designed to match the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) codes from each branch of the U.S. Armed Forces to each job classification series in the State’s Position Classification Plan. The military crosswalk is intended to serve as a general guideline for state agency use.
