I was honoured to speak about Young Epilepsy at Kellogg College, University of Oxford alongside inspiring peers. One message felt especially important to share: children and young people who are navigating epilepsy often feel frightened, isolated, misunderstood, and so much more. As I listened to the speakers before me and looked out at a room full of world‑leading changemakers, I couldn’t help but wonder, what if they hadn’t had someone in their corner believing in them when they were young? Would they be standing here today? That question captures why support matters, and what it has the ability to unlock. Having someone you can count on makes a real difference.
