Decreasing the length of MOS channel and the gate oxide has led to undoubted advantages in terms of chip area, speed and power consumption (mainly exploited in the digital parts). Besides, some drawbacks are introduced in term of power leakage and reliability. Moreover, the scaled technology lower supply voltage requirement has led analog designers to find new circuital solution to guarantee the required performance.

The proposed set of models takes into account most of the sigma-delta modulator non-idealities, such as sampling jitter, kT/C noise and operational amplifier parameters (noise, finite gain, finite bandwidth, slew-rate and saturation voltages). For each model we present a description of the considered effect as well as all of the implementative details. Simulation results on a second-order switched-capacitor sigma-delta modulator demonstrate the validity of the models proposed.

In a data sample corresponding to a total luminosity of 11 pb 1 , we select four-fermion events with high invariant masses of pairs of hadronic jets or leptons. Combining all nal states, the measured total cross section for W-pair production is: WW = 2:89 +0:81 0:70 (stat:) 0:14 (syst:) pb. Within the Standard Model, this corresponds to a mass of the W boson of: M W = 80:80 +0:48 0:42 (exp:) 0:03 (LEP) GeV. Limits on anomalous triplevector-boson couplings are derived.

W-pair events produced in e + e interactions between 161 GeV and 172 GeV centreof-mass energy are selected in a data sample corresponding to a total luminosity of 21.2 pb 1. The mass and total decay width of the W boson are determined

For an integrated luminosity of 36 pb-1, corresponding to 960000 hadronic Z decays, we find a total of 67 candidate events. The rate and kinematical distributions are found to be consistent with first order Monte Carlo calculations based on the Standard Model. No significant structure is seen in the dilepton invariant or recoil mass spectra.

Z H 0 ! q q has been performed using 2.8 million hadronic Z decays collected with the L3 detector at LEP from 1991 through 1994. No evidence for these processes has been observed. Upper limits at 95% condence level for the corresponding cross sections have been set and the results have been compared with theoretical predictions beyond the Standard Model.

The observed relative energy sharing between the neutrino and the charged lepton is found to be well described with a W polarization obtained from a free b{quark decay model with a (V{A)(V{A) decay structure. The alternative of a (V+A)(V{A) decay structure is excluded with a signicance of more than 6 standard deviations. The possibility that hadronic corrections to the b{hadron decay destroy a n y W polarization is disfavored by more than 3 standard deviations.

A signal is observed in the invariant mass distribution M(D s) corresponding to the decay sequence D s ! D s , D s ! , ! l l. The branching fraction for D s ! decays is measured to beB(D s !) = 0 : 074 0:028(stat) 0:016(syst) 0:018(norm). No signal of B ! decays is observed in the data, corresponding to an upper limit on the branching fraction B(B !) < 5:7 10 4 at 90% CL.

Using hadronic Z decays collected in the period from 1991 to 1994, two independent analyses have been performed. In the rst one, the b-decay position is reconstructed as a secondary vertex of hadronic b-decay particles. The second analysis is an updated measurement of b using the impact parameter of leptons with high momentum and high transverse momentum. The combined result is b = [1549 9 (stat) 15 (syst)] fs : In addition, we measure the average charged b-decay multiplicity hn b i and the

In a data sample corresponding to a total luminosity of 55.47 pb 1 collected at an average centre-of-mass energy of 182:68 GeV, we select 824 four-fermion events with pairs of hadronic jets or pairs of leptons with high invariant masses. The comparison of this result with the muon lifetime supports lepton universality of the weak charged current at the level of six per mille. Assuming lepton universality, the value of the strong coupling constant, α s is found to be α s (m 2 τ) = 0.319 ± 0.015 (exp) ± 0.014 (theory).
