Hypotheses as regards probable causes are made known and all these are within the ambience of the physical (empirical) attestation, after all every effect has to be proportionate to its cause. This means that if there is a physical effect, then it has to arise from a physical cause. We can tweak that line to say that no immaterial cause can produce a material effect. This is because it goes against the cause and effect principle. It is in this line of thought that many brain scientists are quick to dismiss any cause that is not as neurally material as its effect. But from experience we are certain of the fact that sometimes the effect is not sufficiently explained by the cause that is being proffered. This is what is seen as regards the brain and its functioning on a consciously evident scale. The cause sometimes is not robust enough to account for the effect. When this happens, what becomes of the integrity of medical science? Departing from the aforesaid question, we pose another question: is the Will explainable by trends found in medical science? The answer to that is already evident, as medical science is empirical (materially verifiable), and the will is not materially evident. In this research, we want to assert that the will is powerful enough to cause certain effects and changes in the functioning of the brain, as will be seen in the actions expressed in and by the human person. To make concrete the hypothesis proposed by this research, consideration is given to the cases of Dyslexia (and dyscalculia).

Human life is a conglomeration of many operations working synchronistically in chaotic manner. Wh... more Human life is a conglomeration of many operations working synchronistically in chaotic manner. What we refer to as conscious living has underneath it a series of unconscious activity that are well timed and effectively orchestrated to deliver. A good example is in the activity of white blood cells (WBCs), whose activity and action are triggered when there is a foreigner in the body. Their effectiveness has dubbed them the soldiers of the human body, responding to threats and seeking out ways to nullify any that has arisen, even when the human person is unconscious of the threat. We can cite many other examples to make concrete the assertion that the human life is a conglomeration of much operation working synchronistically in chaotic manner. However, what is important to this research at present is to ascertain the function of the human will in all that pertains to the human life. This is on the conscious plane (for the other cited example on WBCs, are on the unconscious plane). The human will (volition) is an operational faculty that is not attached to any specific organ in the body (albeit in the brain, since its expression is cognitively mediated); the human will is not a physically concrete, but its effect is however felt. Its domain is the conscious plane, and it is there that its effect is felt. The human person is a conscious determiner of his acts and even when medical (biological) science, consider this to be tied to the functioning of the brain; it is to be stated that the human person is not his brain. In consciously determining his acts, many cranial areas are employed; however, it is not these cranial areas that determine the eventual choice that is made. Thus there must be something else. The hypothesis in this research favors the will. This is what we seek to elaborate upon.

As a neurotransmitter, dopamine flickers when reward is in the offing. It should be noted that a full understanding of the dimensions of addiction in the human person has not be attained to, therefore, we seek to add to this ongoing research, by considering excerpts arising from Quantum Field Theory. Living matter is becoming more comprehensible when we appeal to the fundamental states that define their existence, namely the quantum fields that comprise them. When we consider living matter (organisms), we are presented with the difficult complexity of understanding the human brain. The brain itself is not the human being neither does it comprise the totality of the human person, but is inherently embedded in the entire being of the human person. We are obviously aware of the fact that the major function of the brain pertains to consciousness, be it broad and specific, the former being that general/objective view of awareness recognized, such that is seen when one wakes up from sleep, and the specific that refers to the particular/subjective state of being aware of this or that (this comes after the broad though). Other functions include memory, thought-control, motorskills, vision, breathing, temperature, body-regulation etc. However, all these come after consciousness. Thus what Quantum Brain Dynamics (QBD) considers is not just these other functions of the brain, this is because they can be well analyzed with the workings of classical mechanics (even though they still play host to a quantum description). It rather considers two specific functions above all else consciousness and memory. QBD falls in line umbrella-covers aspects of the quantum brain analysis such as quantum-consciousness, quantum-mind and quantum-brain. The inspiration that lurks behind the Quantum Interpretation of the Brain (QIB), is traceable to the 1944 article written by E. Schrodinger, What is Life, in which he presents how a living organisms evades decay to equilibrium by the fact of negentropy, as such life which is in its ordered macroscopic state is created (in an environment of disorder), which moves against the second law of thermodynamics. The life that is created, that which is sustained, arises from an interaction that the organism engages in with the environment. This interaction is microscopic, albeit quantum, it is an interaction that underscores the reality of quantum entanglement (which also plays hosts to the superposition of quantum states). The quantum interpretation of the brain is a nascent, yet burgeoning as it might be that necessary tool required for a better articulation and comprehension of the brain.

By definition, a cell is the smallest unit of biological life. This means that every living thing... more By definition, a cell is the smallest unit of biological life. This means that every living thing can be fundamentally narrowed down to a composition of cells working together for the furtherance of that being in existence. With the dawn dawn of the evolutionary theory that bespeaks of life commencing some 〜3.8 billion years ago with RNA strands that underwent evolution to become DNA, which led to what we have now as life in the world, or with the Panspermia hypothesis, assuming that life on Earth was seeded from space, what is being considered in this work pertains to the origin of life. In addition to the plethora of intuitive stances that concern the origin story of life, this work will only add to the these. The major hypothesis in this work is that the continuity of life, as pertaining to its procession from parent to offspring provides fundamental links to the origin of life and this is the major consideration that will be given. It is thus apparent that the cells that would be considered are germ cells and not somatic cells. A cursory look at the continuity of life, should give us clues as regards how life originated. We nonetheless, take into consideration the fact that some features due to its non-use have gone extinct, thus taking with them the needed knowledge to breaking even as regards our inquiry. Even at that, we propose that conjectures, hypothetically, can be made based on the physical evidence that is available to us today.
