Three organic manure sources (poultry manure, combined sheep-goat droppings and pig dung, each ap... more Three organic manure sources (poultry manure, combined sheep-goat droppings and pig dung, each applied at 5 Mt ha) and a control (no manure) were evaluated at Federal College of Agriculture, Ishiagu, in lowland derived savannah of southeast Nigeria in 2011 early cropping season using a randomized complete block design with three replications. The objective of the study was to assess the growth and yield of groundnut as influenced by manure sources. The results showed that organic manure application significantly (p<0.05) influenced growth and yield in groundnut. The application of poultry manure followed by combined sheep-goat droppings encouraged vegetative growth of groundnut such as plant height, number of branches plant and number of leaves plant except canopy diameter (p>0.05) as well as grain yield.
