Three specific objectives were developed for the study. Three research questions guided the study. Descriptive survey research design was adopted for this study. The target population of the study was 449 registered crop farmers. The population of the respondents was 320. The sample of the study was 133 respondents. A random sampling technique was used to select 84 teachers of agricultural science while the entire population of the extension workers was used. A 35- Green Manure Practices Questionnaire (GMPQ) items was developed from literature and used for data collection. The instrument was subjected to face and content validation by three experts. Cronbach Alpha reliability method was adopted to determine the internal consistency of the questionnaire items. A reliability of 0.88 was obtained. One hundred and thirty-three copies...

They are commonly called Honeybee, they belong to the kingdom Animalia, phylum Arthropoda, order (Hymenoptera), class (Insecta,) super family Apoide, family Apoidae, genus Apis. Okeme, Ekele and Anam (2014) stated that there are five main species in the genus Apis. They are Apisdorsata (the giant honeybee), Apislaboriosa (the darker giant honeybee), Apis florae (the dwarf honeybee), Apiscerana and Apismellifera. Honeybees are social insects that live in colonies of 10,000 to 60,000 bees (Kangave, Butele, Onzoma and Kato, 2012). A colony consists of a queen (fertile female) a few hundred drones (males) and thousands of workers. They pollinate flowering plants and crops. They also produce honey, beewax, beebread, royal jelly, propolis and bee venom which are useful to man and this can be achieved through beekeeping.

Four research questions guided the study. Survey research design was adopted for the study. The population for the study was 805 respondents comprising of 205 Agricultural extension officers and 600 women farmers. Purposive sampling technique was used to get a sample of 307. A-29 structured items questionnaire titled: Women Farmers in Ruminant Animal Production Questionnaire (WFRAPQ) were developed from literature and used for data collection. The instrument was face validated by three experts. Cronbach Alpha method was used to determine the internal consistency of the questionnaire items which yielded a reliability coefficient of 0.84. The data collected was analyzed using weighted mean and standard deviation. Findings revealed that women farmers require management practices in ruminant animal production and that women encountered several challenges in ruminant animal production amongst others. It was recommended among others that women farmers should be provided with conducive environment in which livestock could be effectively reared.

A survey research design was used for this study. Four research questions guided the study. The population of the study was 51 which consist of 33 HND students, 9 lecturers, 3 instructors and 6 farm supervisors. The entire population was used for the study. The instrument for data collection was structured questionnaire with 27 competence items in cattle production and checklist for facilities/equipment and tools in the college. The Cronbach Alpha method was used to determine the internal consistency of the instrument which yielded reliability coefficient of 0.83. Mean (x) and percentage were used to answer the research questions while checklist was employed to determine the adequacy of staff and availability/suitability of facilities/equipment. Findings from this study revealed that equipment/tools are grossly inadequate, graduates of HND animal production possesses low competency level in cattle production and that staff are inadequate for running the programme. It was therefore recommended amongst others that workshop and training be organized for graduates to improve their level of competency in cattle production.
