The purpose of this study is to investigate the mediation roles of inbound green logistics practices and outbound green logistics practices between eco-market orientation, green value competitiveness and social sustainability.Design/methodology/approachBy employing explanatory research design, with questionnaire-based survey, data for the study was collected from Ghanaian logistics firms. The data is analysed using the partial least square structural equation modelling.FindingsThe results indicate that eco-market orientation has a significant positive impact on green value competitiveness. However, eco-market orientation was found to have an insignificant impact on social sustainability. The results further confirmed...

Structural equation modeling was reflectively configured to test the formulated hypotheses.FindingsSCI causes a statistically significant moderate positive variance in OP in terms of cost-effectiveness, order fulfillment rate, operating cycle, inventory turns, business process innovation. SCI is an insignificant weak positive predictor of FP (growth in revenue, profit, return on investment, sales growth) of CPFs operating in Ghana. Furthermore, OP significantly and positively mediates the predictive relationship between SCI and FP. Again, S...

Descriptive survey was adopted as the main research design. Drinking water (sachet and bottled) distributors and producers located within the Cape Coast Metropolis were targeted as the population of the study with an estimated population of 140 and 25 distributors and producers respectively. Stratified random sampling design was used to sample 103 and 24 pure water distributors and producers respectively and questionnaires used as the research instrument. A 100percent response rate was recorded. The study revealed that most of the SME operators in the industry are motivated by the drives for income generation and job creation. Erratic power supply, high utility charges, high cost of financial ...

A quantitative approach, using questionnaires, was adopted to survey 377 regular students from the University of Cape Coast, who mostly patronize public transport services, especially on vacations, public holidays and school reopening seasons. Data were analyzed, using descriptive statistics and Pearson’s product-moment correlation technique. The findings indicate that the respondents’ strongest perception of the state of public transportation was its importance to society. Majority of the respondents were generally dissatisfied with MMTsservice delivery; and empirically, there was a weak, negative correlation between customer satisfaction in terms of service qualit...

However, firm reputation and operational competitiveness were found not to significantly influence economic performance. The mediation analysis also showed that operational competitiveness, firm reputation and environmental performance play no mediation role between green manufacturing and economic performance. Furthermore, social performance is found to mediate the relationship between green...

Structured questionnaires were used to collect data from 178 Ghanaian manufacturing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Hypotheses were formulated and tested using partial least square structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM).FindingsThe results indicate that GMPs have a significant positive effect on sustainable performance (EP, EnP and SP). Again, GMPs have a significant positive effect on GSCI. Additionally, GSCI plays a mediating role between green manufacturing practices and sustainable performance.Research limitations/implicationsIn this study, GSCI was compositely measured despite having three dimensions. Explanatory research design supported by the quantitative research approach was employed. Structured questionnaires were administered for the collection of the primary data from 115 SMEs operating in the metropolis. The multiple regression results revealed that tax administration accounts for a statistically significant positive weak variance in SMEs' growth, whilst tax incentives account for a statistically significant positive moderate variance in SMEs' growth. Firm size moderates the predictive relationship between tax administration and SMEs' growth. Medium enterprises have higher propensity in terms of tax compliance compared to small enterprises. Medium enterprises also have higher growth potential than small enterprises. Ghana Revenue Authority should implement preferential tax policies that support SMEs growth in Ghana with much emphasis on tax incentive packages to small enterprises.

The study targeted first degree students who were offering different programs in University of Cape Coast, Ghana. A total of 18498 students were targeted. Through the explanatory research design, structured questionnaires were personally administered to 377 participants who provided the primary data. Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) was used for the primary data analysis. Internal consistency of 0.759 was obtained for the instrument. Multiple regression, correlation and moderation analysis were conducted to test the hypotheses in the study. It was discovered that service quality predicted a significant positive variance in customer loyalty. Again, foreign remittance, ease of mobile money registration, interest on savings and airtime purchases made a significant contribution to the 17% variance in customer loyalty. The study proved that, gender and customer satisfaction, significantly moderated the predictive relation between service quality and customer loyalty whilst banking status did not. Security threats, high service charges, low interest on savings, and network failure were major challenges associated with mobile money services.

The study was conducted in University of Cape Coast. Descriptive survey design was used to survey 392 university students out of a total regular student population of 19389. The sample was selected systematically and issued with questionnaires through selfadministration. A 100% return rate was recorded. An internal consistency of 0.806 was recorded for the instrument. Data analysis was done through SPSS (version 22.0) configured with process macro (v2.16.3). Regression analysis was conducted to test hypotheses H1, H2, H3 and H4. Pearson `product-moment correlation was conducted to test H5 and H6. It was found that celebrity advertising role significantly predict positive variance in purchase intention for telecommunication products that are promoted through celebrity advertising. Same was the case of celebrity advertising. Celebrity advertising risk moderates the predictive relationship between celebrity advertising role and purchase intention but does not moderate the predictive relation between celebrity personality characteristics and purchase intention. It is also concluded that there is a statistically positive correlations between celebrity advertising role and customers' purchase intentions and between celebrity personality characteristics and customers' purchase intention. Personality audit of celebrities needs to be carried out before contracting these celebrities to promote brands of telecommunication network providers in order to avoid or reduce celebrity. Also, businesses and marketers must utilize celebrity advertising to augment other marketing communication mixes to get their brands patronized.

Many, if not all, the commercial poultry farms that were established in the late 1960s and early 1970s have collapsed and/or are on the verge of collapsing. Parliament passed a law to increase taxes on the importation of frozen chicken but that law has never been implemented due to pressures from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). This paper examined the challenges and prospects of the commercial poultry industry in Ghana. A synthesis of secondary data was sourced to assess the prevailing issues. It was concluded that the Government of Ghana should pass the law to increase taxes on the importation of frozen chicken; adopt policies to encourage SME financing in Ghana; develop proper training institutions for poultry farmers; encourage the consumption of local poultry products whiles the industry offer relevant training and live demonstration programmes for its members. Entrepreneurs must also address all the financial and managerial issues affecting the poultry industry in Ghana.
