This system contains feedback form which is constructed by using different primitives available in PHP and HTML and combining them together in a required manner. It generates the results for the faculties on the basis of feedbacks given by the students. The students will be provided with unique usernames and password in order to login and evaluate. The final result will be displayed at admin’s page. Admin is the responsible for viewing the evaluation and registering new students. There are questions provided to evaluate the status of faculty and each question contains 5 options namely Excellent, Very Good, Good, Average and Poor.

The most common sites include thigh (peritrochanteric region), abdomen, scapula, and paraspinal area. Early diagnosis and management of the lesion is essential so as to prevent complications such as infections or extensive skin necrosis. The management options include conservative or operative depends on extent, location of lesion, and duration since injury. Diversity of Ethno-Medicinal Plants of Tropical Islands – With Special Reference to Andaman and Nicobar Islands

Abstract Ethno-medicine is the study of the traditional medicine practiced by indigenous people. ... more Abstract Ethno-medicine is the study of the traditional medicine practiced by indigenous people. They use plants from their surroundings, and they pass oral information on medicinal plants and its use to the next generation. Common traditional uses of ethno-medicine include the treatment of indigestion, stomach problems, fever, minor injuries, childhood ailments and complications of pregnancy. Tropical islands are rich in these plants, and most of them are part of the global biodiversity hotspots. A total of 536 species of ethno-medicinal plants from Andaman and Nicobar Islands belonging to 382 genera and 138 families of Angiosperms, Gymnosperms, Pteridophytes and Algae are provided with their use. From Sri Lanka, 41 most important ethno-medicinal plants belonging to Caesalpiniaceae (4) followed by Acanthaceae (2), Combretaceae (2), Fabaceae (2) and Malvaceae (2) are recorded. In the Caribbean regions, analysis of 1753 plant species revealed that maximum endemism of medicinal plants occurs in Cuba followed by Mexico, Haiti and Dominican Republic. Among the Pacific islands, Melanesian countries generally have a much more diverse flora than other insular Pacific countries.

This study involves increasing the efficiency of reusing waste plastic in the production of concrete. The plastic creates substantial garbage every day to which is much unhealthy. The shredded plastic waste was thoroughly mixed with heated aggregate forming a layer on the surface of the aggregates. 300gm of waste plastic was used to coat the aggregates by using 3% waste plastic to the weight of aggregates. All of the aggregates tests were done at the laboratory. The test conducted on plastic coated coarse aggregates and natural coarse aggregates are crushing test, Los Angeles abrasion value test, impact value test, water absorption test and specific gravity test. So, to reduce power consumption we have to reduce weight of chain link plate by using topological approach. The material used for chain link plate is EN19 for better strength. By using ANSYS workbench shape optimization of industrial chain has been carried out to remove material of the chain where stresses are low for applied loading and boundary condition. Shape optimization gives proper shape of chain link plate. We got weight reduction up-to 15% for redesigned chain. It is represented by 43 genera and ca 243 species in India, of which, 31 genera, 82 species, 2 subspecies and 7 varieties are known from the State of Maharashtra. The family is well known for endemism, most elaborate complicated flower of all the dicots and contrivances for pollination. Most of the members of the family are restricted in distribution and many of them fall under some IUCN categories of rare plants. Many of the species are not available for taxonomic studies due to rarity of plant materials. Commercially available araldite epoxy is used as adhesive and glass epoxy and Bakelite is used as Adherends. Numerical analysis is done by a three dimensional finite element method. The FEM analysis is executed by an ANSYS. Tensile tests are carried on computerized universal testing machine. Experimental and FEM results are compared and found reasonable. From results it is noticed that when the angle of scarf adhesive joint is increases then the failure load values also decreases in all joints.

It is 260 km (162 miles) away from Port Blair, i.e., Capital of Andaman and Nicobar [(A and N) Union Territory] having a geographical area of 126.9 km 2 , i.e., 49.0 sq miles. The Nicobar group of islands is inhabited by the two mongoloid group of tribes, viz., the Nicobarese and the Shompens. They are the sole aboriginals in these islands, who continue to sustain themselves with vigor and vitality and have been flourishing as a vibrant ethnic group. Total population of Car Nicobar is 17,841 including 9,735 males and 8,106 females. They get healthcare facilities through Bishop John Richardson (BJR) District Hospital and subcenters of A and N administration but mostly believe in their traditional remedies for various diseases. Objectives: Documentation of the day-today ethnomedicinal practices followed by the Nicobarese tribe of Car Nicobar Island for healing various common ailments. Materials and methods: An ethnomedicinal survey was carried out from July to August 2015 in 15 villages of Car Nicobar Islands of A and N Islands to gather the information on ethnomedicinal practices of Nicobarese tribe of Car Nicobar Island. Observations: During the survey 54 plant species belonging to 54 genera and 30 families which were used as herbal remedies by Nicobarese folk healer of Car Nicobar Islands in 29 common ailments were recorded. Conclusion: The present study, represents some interesting data on potential medicinal plants used by the tribes of Car Nicobar, and the lead obtained from these plants must be screened to determine their therapeutic and pharmacodynamic properties.

(Family: Asclepiadaceous) is one of the critically endangered, endemic plants growing in the grasslands of Western Ghats of India. Its tubers are edible and flowers have considerable ornamental value. Scarcity of pollinators and poor seed set are hurdles in the natural propagation of this plant, leading to a continuous depletion of its natural population. A rapid in vitro multiplication protocol has been developed to conserve this plant using axillary buds as propagules. Various media combinations have been tried for the induction of multiple shoots, their subsequent rooting and recovery of complete plants. Optimum response in terms of multiple shoot formation was achieved on MS medium supplemented with BA (2mg l-1). In four weeks 10-12 shoots developed per axillary bud. Shoots were rooted on half strength MS + IBA (2mg l-1) + NAA (1mg l-1) + activated charcoal (200mg l-1). Acclimatization of in vitro derived plants was accomplished by transfer to soilrite in paper cups and subsequently to soil. The developed protocol for in vitro propagation of this plant will significantly contributes towards its conservation.

Observation on Single-plant Therapy (Ekala Dravya Chikitsa) among Folk Healers of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India

Introduction: The collection and documentation of folklore claims of the native population of And... more Introduction: The collection and documentation of folklore claims of the native population of Andaman and Nicobar Islands including tribes are very essential as these claims can pave the path for new drug discovery. The concept of treating a disease by using a single plant or utilizing it as health supplements are rapidly spreading all over the world and it is widely practiced by physicians. Objectives: This study sought to document the distinct plant species used in treatment by the native and tribes of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India. Materials and methods: During the year 2013 to 2016, a total of 23 periodical surveys of 75 forest beats of Andaman and Nicobar Islands were conducted and 62 local traditional folk healers were interviewed as per the questionnaire based on ethnomedicinal, survey protocol. Observations: One hundred and forty-one folklore claims related to single-herbal remedies were registered which comprises 103 medicinal plant species used to treat 47 different diseases. Maximum numbers of species, i.e., 13 are utilized to cure abdominal pain followed by 12 species for headache and 11 species for fever. Discussion: Among the 103 plant species, 85 species have been quoted in the texts of Ayurveda and the remaining 18 plants have been also defined as folk medicine in other literature of plant studies. However, this study highlights their utilization in common disease by the native and tribal folk healers of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Conclusion: This study gives immense output on the use of the individual medicinal plant in varied systemic and local diseases from the folk healers of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Organized and constructive information incorporated in this article may aid in conducting further pharmacological, toxicological, and clinical studies on reported claims to confirm their therapeutic efficacy and utility.

After critical study and taxonomic analysis the unidentified grass species has identified as an Aira caryophyllea L. Perusals of relevant literature were revealed that, the genus Aira L. has so far not reported from Andaman and Nicobar islands. Hence, it is reported in present communication for new record to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
