With the release of the Congressional investigation the results were not to the CIA’s advantage. Much of the report demonstrated the lack of information gleaned from these individuals, and a lack of accurate information altogether. However, despite this the CIA was still allowed to operate with impunity to continue their operations costing the United States credit on the world stage as a beacon of freedom, and money from needing to compensate these individuals for the actions. This report demonstrated information from studying the cases of the 119 known individuals, however this might be highly inaccurate information as there might be far more which could tip the scales in either direction. Even one of the program’s founders, Dr. Mitchell, said this report was missing much information and incomplete. Because of this and the sensitivity of the operations it may never be known the true effect of enhanced interrogation on detainees.

This led to the outrage all over the world with more people becoming more aware of this terrorist organization (N.A., 2023 Amnesty International). Their goals aim to reestablish the old 11th century, Kanem-Borno Empire of the Sayfawa Dynasty which they believe was a golden age ruled by Islam (Barkindo, 2014). This belief along with their subscription to Salafi sect of Islam puts them at odds with other Muslims, who they view as a false ideology for not having a strict adherence to Islam.

The cost to companies as they travel through high-risk areas has continued to stay high as a way to offset the cost of piracy. The only thing which has changed is the way nations punish piracy. This has arguably led to a resurgence in piracy as a safer means of acquiring money, along with the increase in poverty. However, one aspect which hasn't returned was the act of state sponsored piracy due to treaties. The debate today regarding this is what causes someone to seek this profession compared to a respectable one which contributes to their society.

With some of these individuals eventually being caught, their objectives were ultimately completed making their capture and prosecution a moot point because the damage was done. This unfortunately makes all the hard work of people tasked with safeguarding this information for nothing, however it does give them the potential to improve their systems and procedures to harden themselves from future espionage activities and insider threats.

Most of what people know is General Benedict Arnold’s betrayal, General Washington Crossing the Delaware, and other high-profile people or dates. This does a disservice to those who fought the war in arguably more dangerous conditions or situations than regular soldiers and Minutemen; the spies who served General George Washington from the Culper Spy Ring to other individuals who worked independently to undermine British war efforts and gather valuable information at great risk. These actions and efforts maintained the Continental Army’s ability to maintain a steady fight against the British war effort.
