The objective is to examine the similarities and differences on existing contributions and how it has impacted on the development of management thought. The paper also highlights newly introduced concepts and asserts that these concepts will form the basis for current and future management controvercies as academic, practising and retire managers will continue to discuss them from different perspectives.The paper concludes that the state of management thought will continue to be controvercial since the contributors to the development of management are from different academic background and their views about organizations largely depends on the area of their disposition and also because management is all about human attitude and perception about the emerging situation in their immediate environment.

Financial technology is a broad phenomenon that is evolving daily as more technology entrepreneur... more Financial technology is a broad phenomenon that is evolving daily as more technology entrepreneurs enter the industry and transform it according to social needs. Financial technology could be considered a financial service, which is intervened by innovative technologies to satisfy the requirements of today and future: high efficiency, cost reduction, business process improvement, rapidity, flexibility, and innovation. This study has explored some of variables of financial technology which includes: technological innovation, financial innovation and financial accessibility on variables of business operations. The study adopted a descriptive survey design and the population of the study was 92 members of staff of selected financial technology firms in Lagos, Nigeria. A structured questionnaire was administered online which gave a response rate of 82%. The instrument was validated using content validity index, and a test retest was done for the reliability of the instrument. The data gathered was analyzed through descriptive, linear regression analysis. Findings revealed that technological innovation has a significant effect on efficiency and effectiveness (sig =0.000 < 0.05), R 2 = 0.657 and t-statistic= 12.697, financial innovation has a significant effect on profitability (sig =0.000 < 0.05), R 2 = 0.336 and t-statistic= 6.404 and financial accessibility has no significant effect on sales revenue at a significant (sig =0.435> 0.05), R 2 = 0.008 and t-statistic=-0.785. The study observed that financial technology makes firms to save great resources and reduces costs of operations, reduce cost per transaction in business operations and enable firms to satisfy their customer's needs. The study recommended that organizations should invest in technology and development of members of staff so that the system can inject innovativeness in their technological operations as this has proven in this study that it would bring about efficiency and cost minimization

The study adopted survey research design where purposive sampling technique was used to select the samples for the study. The study utilised pair sample correlation and descriptive statistics to analyze data collected, the study found a link between executive compensation and organisational structure. The study further reveled that multi-product firms that decentralized it executive compensation system perform better than multi-product firms that centralised it executive compensation system. The study recommends that multi-product firms should examine their structure before designing the type of executive compensation system to be adopted.

Expo facto research design was adopted in this study. This study uses secondary data. The data were gotten from Annual reports of selected Banks. The selection of the banks included in the study was based on their performance index from 2010 to 2014. Simple regression analysis was used to analyze the data. Two hypotheses were tested. The result of hypothesis one revealed that the coefficient of determination (R 2 ) value is 0.089 and the P value is 0.201. This implies that there are only 8.9% effects of TMT gender diversity on return on equity, but the P value is greater than 0.05. The result of the second hypothesis revealed that the coefficient of determination (R 2 ) value is 0.012 and the P value is 0.283. The specific key learning objectives of the paper are; to highlight the strategic importance of SMEs in economic development of any economy; to sketch the patterns of Government support programmes for development of SMEs in Nigeria and Past Empirical Studies of SMEs performance in Nigeria; to highlight the importance SMEs for survival and continued growth of Nigeria Economy; to highlight the impact of environmental factors on marketing practice of SMEs; to establish the extent to which marketing practice of SMEs in Nigeria conforms with marketing principles and functions. The Nigeria marketing environment presents features that are quite different from the developed economies and even quite different from other developing countries. There are for examples infrastructural problems that are unthinkable in the context of developed economy. Equally government support programmes for SMEs are poorly managed such that intended results are not obtained. There are attitudinal problem on the part of the SMEs operators and officials of government supervisory agencies. All these have direct and indirect impacts on marketing practice of the SMEs in Nigeria. The paper falls back on empirical studies of the lead author, his post graduate and undergraduate marketing students, on SMEs, to illustrate the marketing practice of SMEs in Nigeria, a developing economy. Conclusions are drawn based on marketing practice of SMEs in Nigeria. The authors call on scholars and writers on marketing functions of SMEs, especially in Nigeria to shift to providing empirical works in their writings on marketing functions rather than the present theoretical considerations. This is because research based findings could be used to improve the marketing practice of SMEs.In summary, the primary purpose of this paper is to present research based findings of the marketing practice of SMEs in Nigeria. The usual focus of authors on marketing practice is the big firms that have made it in the market place. The marketing practice of SMEs is usually assumed. However, the SMEs dominate the landscape of all economies, from developed, developing to underdeveloped. Since marketing is concerned with the creation of customer, and this should be the valid basis for the existence of any business organization. It is important that the marketing practice of the organization that dominates in all economies should be investigated, and understood so as to be able to improve on the practice.This paper is divided into four segments, the literature reviews, summary of the findings on empirical investigation of marketing practice of SMEs by the lead author, then findings of undergraduate and post graduate students supervised by the lead author, this is another way of looking at the marketing practice employed by the studied SMEs. Then follows discussion of the findings in the light of the environment and conclusion.
