Coal washing plant tailings as waste coal powder is one of these issues. Today, their ecological and economical utilization, control and management are of main subjects for ongoing researches throughout the world. On the other hand, researchers still carry out intense investigations on the production of lightweight and sustainable products for construction industry. In Turkey, approximately 20 coal mines and 1 coal power plant do have coal washing plant. In this study, waste coal powder obtained from Soma, Manisa were replaced with clay obtained from Niğde Kolsuz Region in amount of 10%, 20% and 30% by weight and fired at 1000 ° C to produce bricks. Unit weight, compressive strength, flexural tensile strength and water absorption tests were carried out on the samples. Experimental results showed that the addition of coal powder at the replacement ratio of 10% increased the compressive strength and flexural tensile strength of the samples. Use of produced samples in the construction industry will provide produce of high strength bricks of developed features besides contributing to the utilization of coal powder by recycling.

The manner of organization of living space at multi-family apartments differs in the buildings constructed before 1999 and those constructed since that year up to present time. Due to the various changes, be it political, the manner of construction of the buildings after 1999 and other issues of this nature, the living spaces started to shrink, in some cases to such a degree that they are not suitable to meet the needs of the users. All this doesn't end here, the issue is more sensitive when one deals with social housing buildings, the latter used by the inhabitants that cannot afford to solve by themselves the housing issue based on the monthly incomes that they have. The researcher endeavored to offer a description regarding social housing and to perform an analysis in functional and surface area aspect of the multi-family apartments in order to understand if the living space transformation phenomenon is prevalent also at the social housing.

In order to obtain a mathematical equation of this model, the training, testing and validation sets using the experimental results for 175 specimens produced with 118 different mixtures were gathered from different literatures. The data used in the input variables of GEP model are arranged in a format of eleven input parameters that cover the age of specimen, the amounts of concrete mixtures and the properties of steel fibers. According to these input parameters, the ffs values of SFRCs were predicted in the GEP model. The training, testing and validation results in the model have shown that the model has strong potential to predict the ffs values of SFRCs containing SF or FA.

The territory of Kosovo is characterized by a relatively high seismic activity. Compilation, study and updating of earthquake data was made in order to define intensity distribution for territory of Kosovo, which will provide a basis for determination of the main characteristics of the seismicity in territory of Kosovo. These investigations have great significance from scientific and applied aspect and provide reliable of Kosovo seismicity. Results can be used as input for further investigations in the field of seismic hazard, risk assessment, engineering seismology as well for physical and urban land use planning and design in seismic prone areas.

Ground perlite, a volcanic alumina silicate, has a potential to be a precursor material for geopolymer production thanks to its high SiO2 content and amorphous form. This paper presents the investigation of geopolymer production with ground perlite and NaOH. For this purpose, mortar mixtures are made with four different NaOH solutions (3M, 6M, 9M and 12M). Mortar specimens with dimensions of 4*4*16 cm are taken from the mixtures and heat curing process is applied to the specimens after casting. The flexural and compressive strength tests are conducted on the mortar specimens at 7 and 28 days of curing. The test results showed that the flexural and compressive strengths of the ground perlite based geopolymer mortars increase as the increment in molarity of NaOH solution, significantly.

This paper aims to present benefits of underground houses, underground living space. Housing is elementary process of mankind life that was performed from the existence of life in different forms, shapes, levels and social developments. House, as one used to get protected by phenomena of the nature, historically used in different shapes, levels and materials, created mentality that one percept as protective, and isolated space, for life activities. This paper treat possibilities, and priorities, of underground housing and construction of underground house in current development of technology, climate development impact, current development of mentality of society and approach of society toward energy efficiency, as underground house is one of the contribution. Paper as well analyze a...

In addition to the non corrodible nature of FRP materials, they also have a high strength-to-weight ratio that makes them attractive as reinforcement for concrete structures. Extensive research programs have been carried out to investigate the flexural behavior of concrete members reinforced with FRP reinforcement. On the other hand, the shear behavior of concrete members, especially punching shear of two-way slabs, reinforced with FRP bars has not yet been fully explored. The existing provisions for punching of slabs in most international design standards for reinforced concrete are based on tests of steel reinforced slabs. The elastic stiffness and bonding characteristics of FRP reinforcement are sufficiently different from those of steel to affect punching strength. In the present study, the equations of existing design standa...
