The Cosmos (which has a 1:1 correspondence with the human being, who is created in the "image of God") is, likewise, strung upon such a Ladder. ❖ Various traditions speak of this ladder, even though their version may not describe it in entirety. The Yogis speak of a ladder comprising '7-chakras' of the Microcosm. Jainism has a ladder describing the same as '14 Gunashtanas'. Judaism too speaks of the 'Jacob's ladder'. In Sikhism, Guru Nanak speaks of the "Chardi Kala"-the rising ladder comprising the Chakras. ❖ The human Soul, presently in the state of bondage of Mind-Matter-Illusion leading to repeated birth-rebirth, can escape by climbing this Ladder with the assistance of a 'rope', reach and merge with the Supreme Divine. This allegorical 'rope' is the Creative Power of the Cosmos, known as 'Naam' or 'Holy Word'-comprising the 'Jyoti'-Light & 'Shruti'-Sound aspects emanating from the Supreme Divine and enervating every speck of the Creation. ❖ 'Naam' can be experienced within the human body-temple with the grace of a living Sant-Satguruperfect Spiritual Master, who then teaches the initiate as to how to climb this ladder and unite the initiate's soul with the Oversoul, God. This process is known as the "Surat-Shabd yoga" method of meditation, and this path is known as "Sant-Mat" or the "Science of Spirituality".
