To create a lesson plan, teachers have to determine which activities that can build students’ att... more To create a lesson plan, teachers have to determine which activities that can build students’ attention and interest in the classroom. In the lesson plan, there is an objective of learning and the assessment that should be appropriate to one another. The researcher conducted this research to know the appropriateness between the objective of learning and the assessment in the English teacher’s lesson plan at Ukhuwah Full Day Integrated Junior High School. This research used a qualitative research and the kind of research is a library research. There were three steps of data analysis, which were data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing or verification. The result of the research was mostly the lesson plans were appropriate between the objective of learning and the assessment, the teacher was using Bloom and Anderson’s taxonomy then tried to link it with the material that would be taught, then made the appropriate assessment by combining some sources.

This research was aimed to know the English teachers’ readiness in terms of materials development, lesson planning, and teaching skills in online and offline teaching and learning. This study adopted embedded mixed research design that utilized closed-ended questionnaires and interview as instruments for data collection. There were 72 English teachers from Junior and Senior high schools (SMP, MTS, SMA, SMK, and MA) around South Kalimantan as the subject of the research. The result showed that most of the English teachers were ready in developing materials, lesson plan, and teaching skills. They were familiar with the types, the objectives, the principles and the stages in developing materials. Encouraging students to speak English regularly is always a challenging task for English teachers... more Encouraging students to speak English regularly is always a challenging task for English teachers, especially in EFL Context. Implementing a routine conversation can be an alternative for eradicating such problem. This article reports our descriptive study on the implementation of small talk strategy in speaking at Languages Development Center class. There were 42 students, study English at Languages Development Center at IAIN Antasari Banjarmasin, participated in this study. The data collected by conducting a spoken test, in form of interview, in the end of semester. In addition, the students’ responses toward the technique used were also recorded by giving questionnaire. Findings revealed that the students who used to expose themselves in a routine activity, namely small talk, achieved better score in their speaking test than those who did not. Foreign students who are conscientious in this research are 7 students come from Turkey and one from Thailand.
