اEgypt as a pet friendly destination: A constraint analysis of pet’s owners in Egypt

As such, the study focuses on the factors influencing pet owners' choices when bringing their pets on vacation, as they must consider their own circumstances and the restrictions imposed on their animals. The paper also highlights the state of pet-friendly tourism in Egypt and the key factors that accommodation providers consider when offering pet-friendly services. This exploratory research conducted structured interviews with three focus groups. The first group was pet owners, and the second group was accommodation service providers (i.e., managers of hotels, motels, and hostels scattered throughout Cairo, Sharm El-Sheikh, and Hurghada). The final group interviewed ten travel agents face-to-face. The findings revealed that the pet tourism sector is still in its early stages. Moreover, many tourists wish to travel with their pets, but the limitations connected with pets, as well as the obligation to get the proper documents for overseas travel for pets and medical insurance, have a negative impact on their motivation and behavior. Pet owners desire a hassle-free journey and a place to reside that can meet all of their demands when they travel with their animals . Individuals who own pets may be divided into a number of categories, including retirees, childless spouses, persons with disabilities who serve pets, and wealthy families (Ying et al., 2021). These folks are quite eager to shell out for pet-related services, which may be the driving force behind the new, burgeoning pet-friendly tourism business (Kretzler et al., 2022). People frequently bring their dogs on holidays with them because they view them as members of their family and assume that they would be regarded as tourists just like people.

There is a fundamental relationship between festivals and culture, several researchers even inclu... more There is a fundamental relationship between festivals and culture, several researchers even include culture in the definition of festivals which have a great impact on the development of cultural tourism .The organizers are using the cultural as well as historical themes to develop the annual events to attract the tourists and create a cultural image of the destination by organizing the festivals. Consequently, the program of festivals involves cultural elements in many different ways. Each element regardless of its kind (music, film, art, etc.)-constitutes a part of the culture of a society. Accordingly, the aim of the study was to address the impact of hosting film festivals in Egypt such as Cairo International Film Festival on the development of cultural tourism. A scientific questionnaire was designed to measure the studied hypotheses, which were collected from 140 specialists, academics and tourism experts. A dual mediation examination between gender-related challenges and success of women entrepreneurs in community-based tourism

Although the tourist work environment has become characterized by masculinity, however, the touri... more Although the tourist work environment has become characterized by masculinity, however, the tourism sector has become gender balanced after adopting the gender diversity initiative in the workplace to create gender equality. Accordingly, This study aims to investigate several key aspects: First, it explores the potential impact of gender-related challenges on the success of women entrepreneurs operating within tourism-related organizations. Second, it sheds light on the dual mediation effects of cultural preservation and entrepreneurial support in the complex relationship between these genderrelated challenges and the success of women entrepreneurs.. Using a simple random sampling approach, data were gathered from 303 entrepreneurs at tourism-related organizations in Dahab, Egypt. After data coding using SPSS v.28, the final sample size was analyzed using WarpPLS v.8. Findings showed that gender-related challenges negatively affected cultural preservation and entrepreneurial support, while the success of women entrepreneurs was positively affected by cultural preservation and entrepreneurial support. Furthermore, cultural preservation and entrepreneurial support achieved partial mediation of the negative association between gender-related challenges and the success of women entrepreneurs. Lastly, the greater the job experiences of women entrepreneurs, the greater their ability to achieve unprecedented the success in their businesses with their intended organizations. As such, this paper makes significant academic and societal contributions towards promoting community tourism through academic support and cultural preservation provided to women entrepreneurs. These useful insights have implications for policymakers, community leaders, and stakeholders in fostering an enabling environment for gender equality and women empowerment in the tourism industry.
